




The QC (Quality Control) Inspector – Piping \& Welding is responsible for ensuring all piping fabrication, welding, and related construction activities comply with applicable codes, project specifications, and quality standards. The role involves conducting inspections, reviewing documentation, ensuring proper material traceability, and verifying that all work meets safety and quality requirements. **Key Responsibilities1\. Inspection \& Quality Assurance** * Perform fit\-up, dimensional, and visual inspections on piping spools and welded joints. * Conduct in\-process and final inspection of welding activities according to WPS (Welding Procedure Specifications). * Verify compliance with applicable codes such as ASME, API, AWS, and project\-specific standards. * Ensure proper welding consumables handling and storage. * Inspect material identification, heat numbers, and traceability. **2\. Documentation \& Reporting** * Prepare inspection reports, punch lists, and non\-conformance reports (NCRs). * Review and approve WPS, PQR, and welder qualification records. * Maintain all QC records, including weld logs, test certificates, and inspection forms. * Ensure proper documentation for hydro\-test, pneumatic test, and reinstatement activities. **3\. Coordination \& Communication** * Coordinate inspections with construction, welding supervisors, NDT teams, and clients. * Monitor NDT (RT, UT, MPI, DPI) activities and verify results. * Attend project quality meetings and provide updates on inspection status. * Assist QA/QC Lead in quality\-related audits. **4\. Technical Oversight** * Verify correct pipe preparation, joint configuration, and weld parameters. * Check alignment, orientation, and dimensional tolerance per engineering drawings. * Monitor welder performance and report any deviations. * Ensure correct application of welding processes (SMAW, GTAW, FCAW, etc.). **Qualifications \& SkillsEducation \& Certifications** * Diploma/Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field. * CSWIP 3\.1 / AWS\-CWI certification (preferred). * NDT Level II in RT/UT/MPI/DPI desirable. * Knowledge of ASME Section IX, B31\.3, B31\.1, API standards. **Technical Skills** * Strong understanding of welding processes, metallurgy, and fabrication practices. * Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, isometrics, and P\&IDs. * Familiar with QA/QC procedures, inspection techniques, and test requirements. **Soft Skills** * Good communication and coordination abilities. * Attention to detail and strong analytical skills. * Ability to work independently and under pressure. **Experience** * 5\-7 years of experience in piping, welding inspection, or construction QC roles. * Experience in oil \& gas, petrochemical, power plant, or related industries is an advantage.
