Drive continuous improvement and team development **Logistics Manager — Job Description** Overview Lead and optimize end\-to\-end logistics operations—transportation, warehousing, distribution, and returns—to ensure timely, cost\-effective delivery and high customer satisfaction while maintaining compliance and safety. **Key Responsibilities** * Develop and execute logistics strategy to meet service, cost, and capacity targets. * Oversee inbound/outbound transport, carrier selection, freight negotiations, and 3PL relationships. * Manage warehousing operations: receiving, storage, picking, packing, inventory control, and dispatch. * Implement and maintain WMS/TMS; ensure data integrity, accurate inventory records, and process automation. * Plan network and route optimization, load consolidation, and modal selection to reduce costs and improve reliability. * Monitor KPIs (OTD, lead time, fill rate, freight cost per unit, inventory accuracy) and produce management reports. * Lead budgeting, forecasting, and cost\-control initiatives for logistics activities. * Ensure compliance with customs, import/export regulations, Incoterms, and transport laws. * Oversee claims handling, returns management, and reverse logistics processes. * Drive continuous improvement (Lean, Six Sigma), standard operating procedures, and safety/compliance programs. * Coordinate cross\-functional activities with procurement, production, sales, and customer service. * Manage vendor performance, contracts, SLAs, and periodic supplier audits. * Lead, coach, and develop logistics team; set objectives, conduct performance reviews, and manage staffing. * Create contingency plans and manage incident response for supply chain disruptions. **Required Qualifications** * Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience). * 5\+ years experience in logistics/transportation/warehousing with at least 2 years in a supervisory/managerial role. * Strong knowledge of freight management, carrier negotiation, customs procedures, and Incoterms. * Experience with WMS, TMS, ERP systems and advanced Excel; familiarity with transport optimisation tools. * Demonstrated people management and project management skills. * Strong analytical, negotiation, and problem\-solving abilities. **Preferred / Nice\-to\-have** * Certifications: APICS/CPIM, CILT, CSCP, or similar. * Experience managing 3PLs, international logistics, multimodal transport, and cold chain operations. * Lean/Six Sigma training and experience leading continuous improvement projects. * Familiarity with logistics KPIs, network design, and freight cost modelling.
