Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM **Cloud Engineer — Job Description** Overview Designs, implements, and maintains cloud infrastructure and services to ensure scalability, reliability, security, and cost\-efficiency. **Key Responsibilities** * Design, deploy, and manage cloud infrastructure (IaaS/PaaS) on AWS, Azure, GCP, or hybrid environments. * Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and automation for infrastructure provisioning and application deployments. * Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM templates, or similar tools. * Manage container orchestration platforms (Kubernetes, EKS/AKS/GKE) and container workflows. * Monitor cloud resources, optimize performance and costs, and implement autoscaling and resilience patterns. * Configure networking, IAM, security groups, firewalls, and identity solutions to enforce security best practices. * Implement backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies; perform DR tests. * Migrate on\-premises workloads to the cloud and modernize legacy applications. * Integrate cloud services with observability tooling: logging, metrics, tracing, and alerting. * Collaborate with developers to design cloud\-native architectures and troubleshoot production incidents. * Enforce governance: tagging, resource organization, cost allocation, and policy\-as\-code (e.g., OPA, AWS Config). * Maintain documentation: architecture diagrams, runbooks, runbooks, and runbooks (ops runbooks). * Stay current with cloud provider features and recommend improvements or migrations. * Participate in on\-call rotation for incident response and post\-incident reviews. **Required Qualifications** * Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience. * 3\+ years experience working with cloud platforms (adjust by level). * Hands\-on experience with at least one major cloud provider: AWS, Azure, or GCP. * Proficiency with IaC tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM) and configuration management. * Experience with containerization and Kubernetes administration. * Strong scripting skills (Python, Bash, PowerShell) and automation experience. * Knowledge of cloud networking, security, IAM, and cost management. * Familiarity with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI) and observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK). * Good troubleshooting, documentation, and collaboration skills. **Preferred / Nice\-to\-have** * Cloud certifications (AWS Certified Solutions Architect/DevOps, Azure AZ\- or GCP Professional certs). * Experience with serverless architectures (Lambda, Functions) and event\-driven design. * Familiarity with platform engineering, service meshes, and GitOps practices. * Experience with cost optimization, FinOps practices, and multi\-cloud strategies. * Knowledge of compliance standards (PCI, HIPAA, SOC2\) where applicable.
