Proficient in blueprint reading and precision measurement Job Summary Responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining computer numerical control (CNC) lathe machines utilizing Fanuc control systems. The operator will produce precision components by interpreting engineering drawings, loading programs, and ensuring parts meet strict dimensional tolerances. Key Responsibilities Machine Operation: Set up, adjust, and operate CNC lathe machines to perform precision turning operations. Control Programming: Select, load, and edit G\-code and M\-code programs using the Fanuc interface. Tooling Setup: Select, install, and align cutting tools, inserts, jaws, and fixtures according to job sheets. Quality Assurance: Inspect finished parts using micrometers, vernier calipers, thread gauges, and dial indicators. Material Management: Load raw materials (bars, castings, or blanks) into the machine manually or via bar feeders. Process Optimization: Monitor machine operations to detect adjustments needed for optimal tool life and surface finish. Maintenance \& Safety: Perform daily preventative maintenance (fluid checks, chip clearing) and maintain a clean workspace. Required Skills \& Qualifications Technical Experience: Minimum 2–5 years of hands\-on experience operating CNC lathes specifically with Fanuc controllers (e.g., Fanuc Series 0i, 21i, or 31i). Blueprint Reading: Strong ability to interpret mechanical engineering drawings, geometric dimensioning, and tolerancing (GD\&T). Programming Literacy: Ability to perform manual data input (MDI) and modify feed rates, speeds, and offsets at the console. Precision Measurement: Proficient with calibrated measuring instruments to verify accuracy within microns. Mathematical Skills: Solid understanding of shop math, including geometry and trigonometry for tool calculations. Working Conditions Manufacturing or machine shop environment. Standing for long periods and lifting materials up to 20kg. Shift work or overtime may be required depending on production schedules. Work Location: In person
