Director of Engineering – Five\-Star Luxury Hotel **Location:** Doha, Qatar **Employment Type:** Full\-Time **Department:** Engineering **Position Level:** Senior Management About the Role We are looking for an experienced and highly motivated **Director of Engineering** to lead the Engineering Department of a five\-star luxury hotel in Doha. The successful candidate will oversee all engineering, maintenance, facilities, energy management, safety and technical operations while ensuring the highest standards of guest comfort, operational reliability and luxury service. Key Responsibilities * Lead and manage the Engineering Department and daily technical operations. * Ensure reliable and efficient operation of all hotel MEP systems and facilities. * Oversee HVAC, electrical, plumbing, generators, elevators, fire \& life\-safety systems, BMS and other critical equipment. * Develop and monitor preventive and corrective maintenance programs. * Ensure timely resolution of guest\-room and operational maintenance issues. * Manage engineering OPEX, CAPEX, budgets and cost\-control initiatives. * Drive energy conservation, sustainability and utility\-cost reduction programs. * Lead engineering projects, renovations and refurbishment works. * Manage contractors, consultants, suppliers and technical service providers. * Ensure compliance with applicable Qatar regulations, statutory requirements and safety standards. * Develop emergency response and business\-continuity procedures. * Monitor equipment performance, asset condition and replacement requirements. * Lead, coach and develop the Engineering team. * Establish departmental KPIs and drive continuous improvement. * Work closely with all hotel departments to ensure smooth and uninterrupted operations. * Provide technical recommendations and reports to the General Manager and Executive Committee. Requirements * Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in **Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering** or a related field. * Minimum **8–10 years of relevant engineering experience**, preferably in five\-star hotels or luxury hospitality. * Minimum **3–5 years of experience in a senior engineering leadership position**. * Previous experience as **Director of Engineering, Chief Engineer, Assistant Director of Engineering** or equivalent is preferred. * Strong knowledge of hotel MEP systems, HVAC, electrical, plumbing and life\-safety systems. * Strong experience in preventive maintenance, energy management, CAPEX, OPEX and budgeting. * Experience managing contractors, consultants and technical service providers. * Strong leadership, communication, analytical and problem\-solving skills. * Qatar/GCC hospitality experience will be an advantage.
