Job Description We are looking for an experienced **Electrical Design Engineer – Low Voltage Switchgear** to join our Engineering \& Design team. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in **LV switchgear manufacturing and design**, with hands\-on experience designing **MDBs, SMDBs, MCCs, ATS Panels, FDBs, Control Panels, Package Substations, and Unit Substations**. The candidate must have practical knowledge of **IEC standards, LV components, busbar design, circuit breaker selection, protection coordination, technical submittals, and production documentation**. Experience in the **Qatar/GCC switchgear manufacturing industry** is highly preferred. Key Responsibilities * Prepare electrical designs for **IEC\-compliant LV power distribution systems**, including MDBs, SMDBs, MCCs, ATS Panels, FDBs, Control Panels, Package Substations, and Unit Substations. * Prepare detailed **Shop Drawings**, including GA drawings, SLDs, schematics, wiring diagrams, and BOMs. * Develop drawings using **EPLAN P8, AutoCAD**, and other relevant design tools. * Review customer and consultant specifications and ensure compliance with applicable **IEC Standards** and manufacturer requirements. * Perform or support electrical studies, including: * Short Circuit Calculations * Protection Coordination / Discrimination Studies * Temperature Rise Calculations * Design and select LV switchboards and panel boards using applicable **manufacturer configuration and selection software**. * Prepare complete production documentation, including approved drawings, BOMs, wiring diagrams, component schedules, and other production documents. * Prepare technical drawings and document submittals for customer and consultant approval. * Prepare **Technical Submittals, Compliance Statements, and Technical Offers**. * Communicate with customers and consultants regarding technical clarifications and resolve technical comments. * Respond to customer technical questions and requests in a timely and professional manner. * Coordinate with **Estimation, Projects, Production, Procurement, Quality, and Testing teams** to resolve design and technical issues. * Ensure designs meet project requirements, applicable standards, and manufacturing capabilities. Qualifications \& Requirements * **B.E./B.Tech in Electrical Engineering**. * Minimum **5 years of relevant experience** in the same or similar role. * Minimum 5 years of experience with **LV switchgear manufacturing/design**, preferably within Qatar or GCC. * Strong knowledge of applicable **IEC Standards** and major Qatar/GCC end\-user and consultant specifications. * Strong knowledge of LV components and systems from **Siemens, Eaton, ABB, Schneider Electric, Legrand**, or equivalent major manufacturers. * Expert\-level knowledge of at least **one major LV component manufacturer** is preferred. * Hands\-on experience designing: * MDBs * SMDBs * MCCs * ATS Panels * FDBs * Control Panels * Package Substations * Unit Substations * Good knowledge of **IEC 61439\-1 \& IEC 61439\-2** requirements for Low Voltage Switchgear and Controlgear Assemblies. * Strong understanding of **busbar design and selection**, including rated current, short\-circuit withstand capacity, and temperature\-rise requirements. * Knowledge of enclosure sizing and panel configuration based on components, cable termination, heat dissipation, and project requirements. * Ability to develop **control schemes, interlocking schemes, and wiring diagrams** according to operating logic. * Strong knowledge of **LV circuit breaker selection, protection settings, and discrimination/coordination requirements**.
