Translate complex data into clear business recommendations for leadership Position Overview Jesselton Analytics is seeking an experienced and strategic Data Analytics Director to lead the organization’s analytics function and drive the effective use of data across business operations and decision\-making. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and executing the company’s data and analytics strategy, leading analytics professionals, establishing meaningful performance metrics, and translating complex data into clear business recommendations for senior leadership. This is a senior leadership position requiring a combination of **strategic thinking, technical analytics expertise, business acumen, and people leadership**. The role will work closely with executives and cross\-functional teams to identify opportunities where analytics, automation, and data\-driven insights can improve performance and support organizational growth. Current director\-level analytics positions commonly emphasize leadership of analytics teams, executive reporting, data governance, advanced analytics, SQL/Python, BI platforms, and the ability to translate complex data into business decisions. Key Responsibilities * Develop and implement Jesselton Analytics' overall data analytics strategy in alignment with organizational objectives. * Lead, mentor, and develop a high\-performing team of data analysts, BI specialists, and analytics professionals. * Establish and maintain company\-wide KPIs, reporting standards, dashboards, and performance measurement frameworks. * Translate business challenges into analytical solutions and actionable recommendations. * Present analytical findings, forecasts, trends, and strategic recommendations to senior management. * Oversee the development of dashboards, reports, analytical models, and data products. * Ensure data quality, consistency, security, governance, and appropriate access controls. * Partner with technology and data engineering teams to improve data infrastructure, pipelines, and analytical platforms. * Identify opportunities for automation, predictive analytics, artificial intelligence, and machine learning. * Evaluate emerging analytics technologies and recommend solutions that provide measurable business value. * Establish standards for analytical methodology, documentation, data visualization, and reporting. * Manage analytics projects, priorities, budgets, timelines, and resource allocation. * Promote a data\-driven culture throughout the organization. * Ensure analytics initiatives comply with applicable organizational policies and relevant data privacy and governance requirements. Required Qualifications * Bachelor's degree in **Data Analytics, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Analytics, Engineering, Economics**, or a related discipline. * **8–10\+ years of progressive experience** in data analytics, business intelligence, data science, or a closely related field. * **4\+ years of experience in a management or senior leadership capacity**, including experience leading and developing analytics teams. * Demonstrated experience developing analytics strategies and delivering measurable business outcomes. * Strong proficiency in **SQL** and experience working with relational databases, data warehouses, or modern cloud data platforms. * Strong working knowledge of **Python, R, or another programming/statistical language** for analytics and automation. * Extensive experience with enterprise BI and visualization platforms such as **Power BI, Tableau, Looker, or equivalent**. * Strong understanding of data modeling, ETL/ELT processes, data quality, and data governance. * Experience developing executive dashboards, KPI frameworks, management reports, and analytical models. * Experience with advanced analytics, forecasting, predictive modeling, or machine learning. * Demonstrated ability to communicate complex analytical concepts to non\-technical executives and business stakeholders. * Strong project management, strategic planning, problem\-solving, and decision\-making skills. These requirements are consistent with current director\-level analytics postings, which commonly call for a quantitative or technology\-related degree, substantial analytics experience, senior\-team leadership, SQL/BI expertise, and experience connecting analytics to business outcomes. Preferred Qualifications * Master's degree in Data Science, Business Analytics, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, MBA, or a related field. * Experience with cloud analytics platforms such as **Microsoft Azure, AWS, Google Cloud, Databricks, Snowflake, or BigQuery**. * Experience with Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, Tableau, or comparable enterprise analytics ecosystems. * Familiarity with machine learning, generative AI, or AI\-enabled analytics solutions. * Experience establishing enterprise\-wide data governance and data quality frameworks. * Experience working with large, complex datasets and cross\-functional analytics initiatives. * Professional certifications in data analytics, cloud technologies, BI platforms, or project management. * Experience working in a consulting, technology, financial, energy, telecommunications, or other data\-intensive environment.
