The **Senior Barista** is responsible for delivering exceptional coffee and customer experiences while supporting the daily operations of the café. This role serves as a mentor and lead to junior baristas, ensuring consistency in beverage quality, service standards, and operational efficiency. The Senior Barista also assists with training, inventory management, and shift supervision. **Key Responsibilities:** * Prepare and serve high\-quality espresso\-based and specialty beverages according to established recipes and presentation standards. * Lead by example in delivering outstanding customer service and maintaining a welcoming café environment. * Train, guide, and support baristas in coffee preparation, customer service, and operational procedures. * Ensure adherence to food safety, hygiene, and sanitation regulations. * Assist in monitoring stock levels and ordering coffee beans, milk, syrups, and other supplies as needed. * Operate and maintain espresso machines, grinders, and brewing equipment; perform basic troubleshooting and cleaning. * Oversee shift operations when the manager is unavailable — including cash handling, opening, and closing duties. * Monitor beverage quality and consistency, adjusting grind settings or recipes when necessary. * Contribute to menu development and recommend new beverages or improvements based on customer feedback. * Maintain accurate records of sales, wastage, and stock usage. * Promote brand values and uphold company standards at all times. **Qualifications \& Skills:** * Minimum **2–3 years of experience** as a barista in a busy café or specialty coffee environment. * Deep knowledge of coffee origins, roasting profiles, brewing methods, and latte art. * Strong leadership and mentoring skills. * Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. * Ability to handle multiple tasks and work efficiently under pressure. * Basic inventory management and POS operation skills. * Flexibility to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays. * Passionate about coffee culture and continuous learning. **Education:** * High school diploma or equivalent required. * Barista certification (e.g., SCA, Barista Guild, or equivalent) preferred. **Physical Requirements:** * Ability to stand for extended periods (up to 8 hours). * Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and perform repetitive motions.
