Job Summary Primary role is to enhance the aesthetic appeal of the property by applying various finishes to surfaces. Perform various duties ensuring orderly and timely completion of works orders received by Knowcross system. Perform a various work order involved maintaining preventive maintenance for the hotel guest rooms, heart of the house and public areas of the hotel. Be responsible for applying protective coatings, considering safety and environmental factors. Essential Duties and Responsibilities * Maintain complete knowledge and comply with all departmental policies, service procedures and standards. * To prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, filling cracks and holes and ensuring that the area is smooth and free of imperfections. Proper surface preparation is critical for achieving a professional finish. Inspecting the wood surface to identify any imperfections, damage, or existing finishes. They may need to strip existing finishes, sand the wood, or make necessary repairs like filling cracks, holes, or scratches. * To select appropriate paints, coatings, and finishes based on the specific requirements of the hotel. They consider factor such as the type of surface (walls, Ceiling, trim), location (interior or exterior), durability needs, and color preferences. Selection of wooden polishing materials consider factors such as the type of wood, desired appearance (e.g., matt, stain, or glossy), and intended use (e.g., indoor furniture or outdoor decking furniture). * Be responsible for matching existing paint colors when touching up or repainting areas to ensure consistency in the hotel’s decor. Responsible for painting the building and surrounding area. * Responsible for varnishing the furniture, air conditioning grilles, and repair the wallpaper if necessary. * Touch up and repair all Food \& Beverage Outlets surface area, vanish the furniture and all wooden equipment. * Apply protective coating to surface, such as Waterproof coatings for bathrooms on anti\-graffiti coatings for exterior walls, to preserve and extend the life of materials. * Creating decorative finishes, murals, stencils, or other artistic elements to enhance the hotel’s aesthetic and create unique ambiance. * Apply wallpaper to accent walls, corridor, guest rooms and service apartments or other designed area within the hotel. * Responsible for varnishing the furniture, re\-varnishing and re polishing all kinds of furniture in the property. * Apply finishes, stains, and coatings to wooden surfaces to enhance their appearance and protect them from wear and tear. * Check with duty engineer for the priority job. Check the logbook for follow up jobs. * Ensure to follow PPE and safety procedures. * Always maintain safety procedures/conditions in working area and other associated areas. * Keep all\-flammable paint etc. are safety stored. * If the maintenance takes longer time to complete, immediately communicate with the Supervisor and Duty Engineer. * Ensure close the maintenance request in communication devise after completing the job. * Respond promptly to Know cross service order made from made for requests, assistance, or emergency work orders. * Always keep premises clean and tidy after completing the job. * Communicate with Duty engineer/supervisor of daily work progress before ending the shift. * Ensure log down into the logbook before ending the shift. * Follow all the Departmental procedures and instructions. * Follow hotel policy and procedure while entering guest rooms for repairs. * Always maintain safety procedures/conditions in working area and other associated areas. * Understand and practice hotel emergency fire precaution procedures. * Ensure team work to achieve Engineer departmental goal. * Maintain and repair all guestrooms and public area in accordance with the P\-P\-M procedures and standards guideline. * All the MEP plant rooms, workshop areas and all equipment’s are clean and in good working condition. * Attending all training arranged by Hygiene, Health \& Safety Manager such as safety training, safety Induction, on the job training, toolbox talks, etc. * Ensure maintenance records are kept up to date. * Monitor Know cross application and respond promptly to any escalated requests made for problems, assistance, or emergency work orders. Standard Responsibilities * Comply and adhere to the Rosewood company policies. * Take on other tasks in addition of the ones stated, in a reasonable framework. * Be always a "brand ambassador" and ensure brand integrity and clarity are always maintained. * Model the company’s culture, vision, mission, and core values always. * Take a proactive approach to management of the department, anticipating potential opportunities. * Understand and practice hotel emergency fire procedures. Confidentiality Whist working for the company there will be access to a wide variety of confidential information concerning the company, guests and associates. It is vital that all such information remains confidential and must not be disclosed to anyone outside the company, guests, and associates, unless otherwise stated. Health \& Safety * Be aware of all existing departmental Job Safety Analysis and Risk assessments and strive to work in an accident\-free manner and to create a safe work environment for others. To continuously look for conditions which may endanger associates or guests of the hotel and to take immediate action to correct any hazardous conditions found. * Be aware of and comply with safe working practices as laid down under the Health and Safety rules, regulations, and procedures as applicable to your place of work. This will include your awareness of any specific hazards at your workplace. * The wearing of appropriate protective clothing provided by or recommended by the Company will be obligatory. * Report any defects in the building, plant, or equipment according to hotel procedure. * Ensure that any accidents to associates, guests or visitors are reported immediately in accordance with correct procedures. * Attend Statutory Fire, Health \& Safety training and be fully conversant with and abide by all rules concerning Fire, Health \& Safety. * Be fully aware with and adhere to: * Regulations * Hotel Risk Assessments * Hotel Fire, Life \& Safety Procedures Other The above description is not to be regarded as exhaustive.
