Project Engineer – Mechanical

We are seeking a proactive and results\-driven **Project Engineer – Mechanical (Fit\-Out)** to support the execution of mechanical fit\-out works across ongoing projects in Qatar. The role is responsible for site supervision, coordination, quality assurance, and ensuring mechanical installations are completed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, and project requirements.
**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**
**Project Execution \& Coordination**
* Plan, coordinate, and monitor mechanical fit\-out works in line with project schedules and SLAs.
* Provide mechanical (fit\-out) technical guidance and resolve site\-related technical issues.
* Coordinate with the Project Manager, clients, consultants, and head office for smooth project execution.
* Ensure mechanical works are implemented as per approved drawings, specifications, and method statements.
**Site Supervision**
* Supervise day\-to\-day mechanical installation activities on site.
* Monitor work progress and ensure activities are completed as per agreed schedules and plans.
* Supervise Foremen and technicians to maintain productivity, quality, and safety compliance.
* Coordinate with other disciplines to avoid clashes and ensure seamless execution.
**Quality, Safety \& Performance**
* Conduct routine site inspections to ensure quality standards and KPIs are met or exceeded.
* Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental requirements on site.
* Implement corrective actions to address workmanship or performance issues.
**Documentation \& Reporting**
* Prepare daily and weekly progress reports for mechanical activities.
* Maintain accurate site records, inspections, and service delivery documentation.
* Support testing, commissioning, and handover activities.
**Skills and Competencies**
* Strong leadership and team management skills.
* In\-depth knowledge of interior fit\-out construction processes and sequencing.
* Strong commercial awareness with hands\-on knowledge of prices, rates, and contract procedures.
* Excellent analytical, decision\-making, and problem\-solving abilities.
* Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
* Highly organized with strong planning and prioritization abilities.
* Proficient in MS Office, spreadsheets, databases, and project planning tools.
**QUALIFICATIONS**
**Education**
* Bachelor’s Degree or Technical Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
**Experience**
* Minimum 8\+ years of experience in mechanical fit\-out projects.
* Experience in HVAC, ventilation, plumbing, and firefighting systems is preferred.
* Middle East / Gulf countries experience (Qatar preferred) is required.
**Technical Skills**
* Strong knowledge of mechanical fit\-out systems including HVAC, ventilation, plumbing, and firefighting.
* Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and specifications.
* Familiarity with method statements, material submittals, and site documentation.
* Proficient in MS Office and AutoCAD.
