Additionally, focus on delivering HR services that meet or exceed employee needs and support business success; and ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and operational procedures. **Candidate Profile** **Education and Experience Requirements** * High school diploma or equivalent (GED); 3 years of experience in Human Resources, management operations, or a related field. Or * Two-year degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field from an accredited university; 1 year of experience in Human Resources, management operations, or a related field. **Core Job Activities** **Manage Recruitment and Hiring Processes** * Assist, as needed, in interviewing and hiring Human Resources team members with appropriate skills. * Establish and maintain relationships with external recruitment sources. * Participate in job fairs per HR Standard Operating Procedures and ensure documentation of outreach efforts is maintained. * Liaise with local organizations (e.g., hotel associations and peers) to identify candidates for current or future vacancies. * Oversee/supervise candidate identification and selection processes. * Provide subject-matter expertise on selection procedures to hotel managers. * Partner with vendor partners to ensure effective promotion of open positions at respective properties to attract a diverse candidate pool. * Conduct quality control for candidate identification/selection. **Implement and Administer Employee Benefits** * Collaborate with unemployment service providers to respond to unemployment claims; review accuracy of provider reports and correct errors. * Prepare and audit unemployment claim activity reports, and distribute them to hotel management. * Attend unemployment hearings and ensure the hotel has appropriate representation arranged. * Ensure departments have resources available to manage employees effectively. **Manage Employee Development** * Support departmental onboarding programs to ensure employees receive appropriate new hire training to successfully perform their job responsibilities. * Ensure employees receive cross-training to support successful day-to-day operations. * Utilize all on-the-job training tools available to employees; monitor ongoing training initiatives and deliver training as appropriate. * Coordinate and facilitate new employee onboarding programs to create a positive first impression for employees and emphasize the importance of customer service within the company culture. * Ensure all new hires and leadership teams participate in training programs. * Partner with the management team to ensure departmental onboarding processes are established and employees receive appropriate new hire training to successfully perform their job responsibilities. **Maintain Employee Relations** * Assist in maintaining effective employee communication channels within the hotel (e.g., conduct daily communications and assist in scheduling regular all-hotel meetings). * Review accuracy and consistency of progressive discipline documentation; review supporting files and determine appropriate actions. * Apply the “Open Door” policy to promptly acknowledge employee concerns or issues. * Ensure employee issues are escalated to the Department Head for resolution, or further escalated to the HR Director / Multi-Property HR Director. * Collaborate with Loss Prevention, as needed, to conduct employee incident investigations. * Communicate performance expectations based on each position’s job description. **Manage Legal and Compliance Practices** * Ensure employee files contain required employment documentation, appropriate performance management and compensation records, and are properly maintained within mandated timeframes. * Ensure adherence to employee file access, review, and audit procedures, and compliance with Privacy Laws. * Ensure medical records are stored separately, securely, and confidentially in dedicated medical files. * Administer random, reasonable suspicion, and post-incident drug testing processes (where applicable and conducted on-property). * Communicate hotel rules and regulations via the employee handbook. * Ensure all safety and security policies (e.g., hotel evacuation, lost & found, bloodborne pathogens, incident reporting, and hygiene) are regularly communicated to employees through onboarding, hotel meetings, bulletin boards, etc. * Conduct regular claim reviews with the regional claims office to ensure timely claim closure and that reserve levels are appropriate for open claims. * Represent Human Resources on the hotel Safety Committee; help identify ways to increase awareness of workplace safety importance and reduce frequency and severity of incidents. * Manage workers’ compensation claims to ensure appropriate employee care and cost management. * Oversee the selection/non-selection and hiring process to ensure proper procedures are followed (e.g., legitimate justification for selection/non-selection and applicants receiving status notifications). *Marriott International is committed to being an equal opportunity employer, welcoming all individuals and providing inclusive hiring opportunities.
