Key duties include: * **Operations Management:** Oversee all daily logistics activities, including shipping, receiving, inventory management, and warehousing. This involves ensuring work is distributed efficiently to meet delivery and quality targets . * **Inventory Control:** Maintain accurate inventory records through regular cycle counts, audits, and reconciliation. Ensuring stock levels are accurate is critical for meeting customer demands and preventing disruptions . * **Transportation \& Delivery:** Monitor transportation schedules and optimize routes to ensure timely, cost\-effective deliveries. This often includes coordinating with third\-party carriers and resolving shipping issues . * **Team Leadership:** Directly supervise, train, and mentor logistics staff. This includes scheduling, providing performance feedback, and recommending corrective actions when necessary . * **Process Improvement:** Analyze logistics data and metrics (KPIs) to identify areas for improvement. Implement process changes to enhance productivity, efficiency, and reduce costs . * **Compliance \& Safety:** Ensure all operations comply with company policies and regulatory requirements (e.g., OSHA, ISO standards). Maintain a safe work environment and enforce safety protocols . **Required Qualifications and Skills** Employers typically look for a combination of education, experience, and soft skills. * **Education:** A Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field is often preferred, but equivalent experience is sometimes accepted . * **Experience:** Most positions require **3 to 5 years** of relevant experience in logistics or warehouse management, with at least **1 to 2 years** in a supervisory role . * **Technical Skills:** Proficiency in ERP systems (like SAP or Oracle) and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) is a significant advantage.
