




**Position:** HVAC Technician **Department:** Facilities Maintenance / MEP Services **Experience Required:** 3\+ years in HVAC installation, maintenance \& repair **Certifications Preferred:** EPA 608 Universal, HVAC Technical Diploma, Safety Certifications **Location:** \[Commercial/Residential/Industrial Sites] **Reporting To:** HVAC Supervisor or Facilities Manager **Job Summary** We are seeking a skilled and reliable HVAC Technician with 3\+ years of hands\-on experience to install, maintain, and repair heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong troubleshooting abilities, adherence to safety protocols, and commitment to quality workmanship in residential, commercial, or industrial settings. You will ensure optimal system performance, energy efficiency, and customer satisfaction. **Key Responsibilities** **1\. Installation \& Commissioning** * Install new HVAC equipment including split systems, package units, chillers, AHUs, and VRF systems * Mount compressors, condensers, and other system components according to specifications * Connect electrical wiring and controls, and perform system start\-up and balancing * Braze refrigerant lines, perform pressure testing, and evacuation/vacuum procedures **2\. Maintenance \& Servicing** * Perform preventive maintenance on HVAC systems per manufacturer recommendations * Clean coils, filters, drains, and ductwork to maintain system efficiency * Check and calibrate thermostats, humidistats, and other control devices * Lubricate motors, bearings, and other moving parts as required **3\. Troubleshooting \& Repairs** * Diagnose malfunctions in HVAC systems using manifold gauges, multimeters, leak detectors * Repair or replace defective components: compressors, motors, fans, relays, valves, capacitors * Troubleshoot electrical circuits, control systems, and refrigeration cycles * Identify and fix refrigerant leaks, recharge systems following EPA guidelines **4\. Customer Service \& Documentation** * Explain technical issues and repair options to customers in understandable terms * Provide maintenance recommendations and energy\-saving tips * Complete service reports, work orders, and equipment logs accurately * Maintain inventory of parts, tools, and supplies **5\. Safety \& Compliance** * Follow all safety protocols including lockout/tagout, fall protection, and electrical safety * Handle refrigerants according to EPA Section 608 regulations * Adhere to local building codes, mechanical codes, and OSHA requirements * Maintain clean and organized work areas **Qualifications \& Requirements** **Mandatory:** * Minimum **3 years of proven experience** as an HVAC Technician * **EPA 608 Universal Certification** (or ability to obtain within 30 days) * Technical diploma in HVAC/R or related field * Experience with: * Split systems, package units, and heat pumps * Refrigeration principles and refrigerant handling * Electrical systems up to 480V * Sheet metal work and duct fabrication/installation * Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals * Valid driver's license with clean driving record **Preferred:** * **NAFED or NATE Certification** * Experience with: * Commercial HVAC systems (chillers, cooling towers, VAV systems) * Building automation systems (BAS) and DDC controls * Energy recovery ventilators (ERV) and variable refrigerant flow (VRF) systems * Welding and brazing (certified) * Knowledge of: * ASHRAE standards and local mechanical codes * Energy management and sustainability practices * Bilingual abilities (English \+ local language) **Technical Skills:** * Proficient with HVAC tools: manifold gauges, vacuum pumps, leak detectors, combustion analyzers * Electrical troubleshooting with multimeters, amp probes, megohmmeters * Sheet metal fabrication and ductwork installation * Computer literacy for work orders and basic system programming **Soft Skills:** * Strong problem\-solving and analytical abilities * Excellent customer service and communication skills * Attention to detail and commitment to quality * Ability to work independently and manage time effectively * Physical stamina for lifting heavy equipment and working in various conditions **Working Conditions** * **Schedule:** Full\-time, may include evenings, weekends, or on\-call rotations for emergency service * **Environment:** Indoor and outdoor work in various temperatures and weather conditions * **Physical Requirements:** Ability to lift 50\+ lbs, climb ladders, work at heights, and in confined spaces * **Travel:** Local travel between job sites in company vehicle **What We Offer** * Competitive hourly wage \+ overtime opportunities * Company vehicle, fuel card, and mobile device * Tool allowance and uniform provided * Health, dental, and vision insurance * Paid training and certification support * Retirement savings plan * Career advancement opportunities Job Types: Full\-time, Permanent
