Summary: The Steel Fixer is responsible for carrying out reinforcement steel fixing works in accordance with approved structural drawings, specifications, and instructions from the site supervision team. Highlights: 1. Execute reinforcement steel fixing per structural drawings and specifications 2. Install and secure reinforcement for various structural elements 3. Coordinate with site supervision and ensure work quality Job Purpose To carry out reinforcement steel fixing works in accordance with approved structural drawings, bar bending schedules, specifications, and instructions from the site supervision team. Key Responsibilities * Read and understand structural drawings and reinforcement details. * Cut, bend, place, and fix reinforcement bars as required. * Install reinforcement for foundations, footings, columns, beams, slabs, walls, stairs, and other structural elements. * Follow bar sizes, spacing, laps, anchorage, and detailing shown in approved drawings. * Maintain required concrete cover using approved spacers and chairs. * Properly tie reinforcement using binding wire and ensure reinforcement is secure before concrete pouring. * Check reinforcement alignment, levels, spacing, and dimensions before inspection. * Coordinate with the Foreman regarding daily work requirements. * Assist in preparing reinforcement for inspection by the Site Engineer/Consultant. * Rectify reinforcement works based on inspection comments. * Maintain proper housekeeping and safe handling of reinforcement materials. * Follow all project safety requirements and instructions. Minimum Requirements * Minimum 3 years of experience as a Steel Fixer/Steelman in building construction. * Good knowledge of reinforced concrete works. * Ability to understand basic structural drawings and reinforcement details. * Experience with foundations, columns, beams, slabs, walls, and stairs. * Ability to work accurately according to specified bar sizes, spacing, laps, and cover. * Physically fit and capable of working in a construction environment.
