Description

**1\. Inspection \& Verification:** * Perform visual inspections (VT) of welds before, during, and after welding in accordance with approved procedures (WPS/PQR). * Monitor and verify that all welding is carried out by qualified welders using approved procedures and materials. * Conduct dimensional checks of weld preparations and finished weldments. * Witness and monitor non\-destructive testing (NDT) activities such as Radiographic Testing (RT), Ultrasonic Testing (UT), Magnetic Particle Testing (MPT), and Dye Penetrant Testing (DPT). * Interpret NDT reports and evaluate weld defects against acceptance criteria (ASME, API, AWS, etc.). **2\. Documentation \& Reporting:** * Maintain accurate and detailed inspection records (ITPs, checklists, reports). * Issue and manage Non\-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and monitor corrective actions. * Review and verify welder qualifications (WPQR), Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS), and material certifications (MTC). * Prepare daily and weekly inspection summary reports for QA/QC management. **3\. Compliance \& Quality Assurance:** * Ensure strict adherence to project\-specific standards, codes (e.g., ASME Section IX, API 1104\), and client specifications. * Conduct audits of welding consumable storage, handling, and issue procedures. * Verify preheat and interpass temperature controls and Post Weld Heat Treatment (PWHT) cycles as required. * Promote and enforce safe work practices and a culture of quality on\-site. **4\. Coordination \& Liaison:** * Interface with welding supervisors, foremen, engineers, and client representatives. * Coordinate schedule of inspections with construction and production teams to avoid delays. * Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior inspectors and welding crews on quality requirements. **Qualifications \& Requirements** **Mandatory:** * A valid **CSWIP 3\.1 Welding Inspector** certification from TWI or an equivalent (**AWS Certified Welding Inspector \- CWI** is highly desirable). * Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgy, Welding Technology, or a related field. * Minimum of **3 years** of hands\-on experience as a Welding Inspector in the **oil \& gas, petrochemical, power plant, or major construction** sectors. * In\-depth knowledge of international welding codes and standards (ASME, AWS, API, ISO). * Proven experience in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, isometrics, and P\&IDs. * Competency in Microsoft Office Suite and report writing. * Excellent command of written and spoken English. **Preferred:** * Additional NDT Level II certifications (RT, UT, MT, PT). * Previous experience working in Qatar or the GCC, with knowledge of local regulations (e.g., QCS 2014\). * Arabic language skills are an advantage. * Experience with computerized welding data recording and monitoring systems.
