Utilize expert AutoCAD and 3D modeling skills for facade systems **JOB DESCRIPTION:** The **Technical Draftsman for Doors, Windows, and Facades** is a specialized role responsible for translating architectural concepts into detailed, buildable technical drawings (Shop Drawings) for building exteriors, curtain walls, cladding, windows, and doors. This role bridges the gap between design intent and fabrication/installation, ensuring that all drawings comply with structural, aesthetic, and building code requirements. **Draftsman Responsibilities:** · Shop Drawing Production: Prepare detailed 2D CAD drawings and 3D models for facade systems, including curtain walls, cladding panels, glazing assemblies, and aluminum doors/windows. · Technical Detailing: Create accurate elevations, sections, plans, and installation details, specifying all necessary materials and components. · Coordination: Collaborate with architects, structural engineers, and project managers to resolve design conflicts (clashes) and ensure technical feasibility. · Fabrication \& Production Documents: Develop shop drawings, assembly drawings, and precise cutting lists (aluminum/glass) for factory production. · Material Take\-offs (MTO): Calculate material requirements accurately and assist in preparing Material Request Sheets (MRS). · Compliance: Ensure all designs adhere to local building codes, safety regulations, and industry standards (e.g., ASTM, NFPA). · Project Submittals: Prepare project material submittals and compliance sheets for consultant approval. · Scope Identification: Review project specifications and drawings to identify the scope of work, particularly for high\-rise and complex projects. · Site Support: Occasionally visit sites to verify measurements, assess field conditions, and update "As\-Built" drawings. **Draftsman Requirements:** · Education: Diploma or degree in Architectural Drafting, Civil Engineering, or a related technical field. · Experience: Minimum 2–5 years of experience in facade design, drafting, or aluminum systems (e.g., Curtain Walls, ACP, Windows). · Software Proficiency: Expert knowledge of AutoCAD is mandatory.
