Job Summary
Prepare special meals and substitutes. Adjust temperatures of ovens, broilers, grills, and roasters. Retrieve food from freezers and thaw it in refrigerators. Portion and plate food appropriately. Manage food records. Monitor the quality and quantity of prepared food. Communicate support needs during peak periods. Inform chefs of leftover ingredients for use in daily changing menus. Notify food and beverage service staff of special or out-of-stock menu items. Ensure ingredient quality. Cook according to recipes, quality standards, presentation standards, and cooking checklists. Prepare cold foods.
Assist management in hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, motivating, and coaching employees; serve as a role model. Comply with all company safety and security policies and procedures. Report maintenance needs, accidents, injuries, and hazardous working conditions to managers. Ensure uniforms and personal appearance are clean and professional. Anticipate and respond to guests’ service needs; communicate clearly and professionally with others. Listen attentively to colleagues’ concerns and respond appropriately; ensure adherence to expected quality and standards. Frequently stand, sit, walk, bend, twist, pull, squat, and reach overhead and below knee level. Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 25 pounds without assistance. Perform other appropriate duties as requested by supervisors. Perform other reasonable duties as required by management.
Preferred Qualifications
Education: Degree from a technical, trade, or vocational school.
Related Work Experience: Minimum of 3 years of related work experience.
Supervisory Experience: No supervisory experience required.
