Prepare ingredients required for cooking (portioning, dicing, storage, etc.). Wash and peel fresh vegetables and fruits; measure, weigh, and mix ingredients. Prepare and cook food in accordance with recipes, quality standards, plating guidelines, and food preparation checklists. Prepare cold foods. Operate ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, and fryers. Conduct tests to verify that food is thoroughly cooked. Monitor food quality during preparation. Prepare and clean the work area. Portion food accurately into appropriate containers. Clean and sanitize kitchen areas, tables, utensils, knives, and equipment. Ensure equipment and food temperatures are appropriate.
Comply fully with company policies and procedures regarding safety and security; report maintenance needs, accidents, injuries, and unsafe working conditions to management; complete safety training and certification. Maintain clean and professional uniforms and appearance; safeguard confidential information and protect company assets. Communicate clearly and professionally with others. Build and sustain positive working relationships with others; support team efforts toward achieving common goals; listen attentively to colleagues’ concerns and respond appropriately. Strictly adhere to quality expectations and standards. Stand, sit, or walk for extended periods or throughout entire shifts. Reach overhead and below knee level; bend, twist, pull, push, and squat. Lift, carry, move, push, pull, and position objects weighing up to 25 pounds unassisted.
Perform other reasonable duties as directed by supervisors.
Preferred Qualifications
Education: High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
