Ensure compliance with local regulations and HSE requirements Mechanical or Electrical Engineer (Facilities Management Experience) **Job Title:** Mechanical/Electrical Engineer – Facilities Management (FM) **Department:** Facilities Management / Engineering **Reports To:** FM Manager / Engineering Manager Job Summary We are seeking a qualified and experienced **Mechanical/Electrical Engineer** with a strong background in **Facilities Management (FM)** to oversee the operation, maintenance, and optimization of building systems and infrastructure. The ideal candidate will ensure the efficient performance of mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and other critical assets while maintaining compliance with safety and regulatory standards. Key ResponsibilitiesEngineering \& Maintenance * Manage the operation and maintenance of mechanical and electrical systems, including HVAC, power distribution, lighting, generators, UPS systems, pumps, and plumbing systems. * Develop and implement preventive and corrective maintenance programs. * Monitor building management systems (BMS) and ensure optimal asset performance. * Conduct site inspections and technical audits to identify maintenance requirements and improvement opportunities. * Troubleshoot and resolve complex engineering and technical issues. Facilities Management * Support day\-to\-day FM operations for commercial, residential, industrial, or mixed\-use facilities. * Ensure facilities are maintained in a safe, efficient, and cost\-effective manner. * Coordinate with service providers, contractors, and vendors to ensure quality service delivery. * Monitor service\-level agreements (SLAs) and key performance indicators (KPIs). Health, Safety \& Compliance * Ensure compliance with local regulations, building codes, and HSE requirements. * Conduct risk assessments and implement corrective actions. * Support emergency response planning and business continuity initiatives. * Ensure all maintenance activities adhere to safety standards and permit\-to\-work procedures. Project Management * Assist in planning and execution of refurbishment, upgrading, and capital improvement projects. * Review engineering drawings, specifications, and contractor submissions. * Monitor project progress, quality, timelines, and budgets. * Support commissioning and handover of new installations. Reporting \& Documentation * Prepare technical reports, maintenance schedules, and asset performance analyses. * Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment history, and compliance documentation. * Provide regular updates to management regarding facility performance and operational issues. Qualifications * Bachelor's Degree in **Mechanical Engineering** or **Electrical Engineering**. * Professional engineering certification is an advantage. * Facilities Management certifications (IFMA, BIFM/IWFM, FMP, CFM, etc.) are preferred. Experience * **5\+ years** of experience in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering within the **Facilities Management industry**. * Experience managing MEP systems in commercial, residential, healthcare, hospitality, or industrial facilities. * Strong experience with preventive maintenance programs and FM operations. * Experience working with CAFM/CMMS systems. Skills \& Competencies * Strong knowledge of MEP systems and building services. * Understanding of HVAC, electrical distribution, generators, firefighting systems, and plumbing systems. * Knowledge of local building regulations and HSE standards. * Excellent troubleshooting and problem\-solving skills. * Project management and contractor management experience. * Strong communication and stakeholder management skills. * Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CMMS/CAFM software.
