We are looking a highly experienced and results\-driven Senior Construction Manager to lead and oversee the execution of major building and civil construction projects in Qatar.
The successful candidate will take overall responsibility for site construction activities, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, quality standards and contractual requirements.
The role requires a strong construction professional with extensive main contracting experience, proven leadership of large multidisciplinary site teams, and the ability to coordinate effectively with Project Management, Engineering, Planning, Commercial/QS, Procurement, MEP, QA/QC, HSE, consultants, subcontractors and clients.
**Key Responsibilities**
· Lead and manage all day\-to\-day construction activities across assigned project sites.
· Develop and implement construction execution strategies, site logistics plans, work sequences and resource deployment plans.
· Ensure construction activities are executed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, method statements, project schedules and contractual requirements.
· Lead Project Engineers, Site Engineers, Supervisors, Foremen, subcontractors and site workforce to achieve project milestones and productivity targets.
· Coordinate closely with the Project Manager and Planning team to monitor progress, identify delays and implement recovery or acceleration measures where required.
· Coordinate Civil, Architectural, Structural and MEP works to ensure proper construction sequencing and timely resolution of interface issues.
· Review construction drawings, technical documentation, method statements and site requirements prior to execution.
· Identify and resolve technical, operational and site\-related constraints before they affect project progress.
· Monitor manpower, plant, equipment and material utilization to maximize site productivity.
· Coordinate with Procurement and Logistics teams to ensure timely availability of materials, equipment and construction resources.
· Work closely with Commercial/QS teams on quantity verification, progress measurement, variations and subcontractor progress.
· Monitor subcontractor performance against approved schedules, quality standards, safety requirements and contractual obligations.
· Coordinate inspections and approvals with QA/QC teams, consultants and relevant stakeholders.
· Ensure timely closure of NCRs, observations, punch lists and construction defects.
· Maintain strict compliance with project HSE plans, company safety procedures and applicable regulatory requirements.
· Conduct and participate in site coordination meetings, progress meetings, technical meetings and management reviews.
· Monitor actual progress against baseline and look\-ahead schedules and promptly escalate significant deviations.
· Minimize rework, material wastage, idle manpower and construction inefficiencies through proactive site management.
· Prepare and review daily, weekly and monthly construction progress reports.
· Maintain effective communication with clients, consultants, subcontractors and internal departments.
· Ensure completed works are properly inspected, tested, documented and prepared for handover.
· Drive a culture of safety, quality, accountability, productivity and continuous improvement throughout project execution.
**Qualifications \& Experience**
· Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related construction discipline.
· Minimum 15 years of overall construction experience, preferably with reputable main contracting companies.
· Minimum 5 years of experience in a Construction Manager / Senior Construction Manager or equivalent site leadership position.
· Proven experience managing large\-scale building, commercial, residential, mixed\-use, hospitality, infrastructure or similar construction projects.
· Strong preference for candidates with significant Qatar/GCC construction experience.
· Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, sequencing, site logistics and project execution.
· Excellent understanding of structural, architectural, civil and MEP interfaces.
· Strong knowledge of QA/QC procedures, HSE requirements, method statements and inspection processes.
· Ability to read and interpret IFC drawings, shop drawings, specifications, BOQs and other technical documents.
· Strong understanding of project schedules, look\-ahead programmes, manpower planning and productivity monitoring.
· Good commercial awareness relating to quantities, variations, subcontractors, material utilization and cost control.
· Proficiency in MS Project and project/site reporting systems; ERP experience is an advantage.
· PMP or equivalent project/construction management certification is an advantage.
· UPDA/MMUP registration would be an advantage for Qatar\-based candidates.
