Plan and execute shutdown/turnaround activities for major mechanical scopes **Overview** Maintain, inspect, and repair rotating (pumps, motors, compressors, turbines) and static equipment (vessels, heat exchangers, piping, pressure vessels) to ensure safe, reliable plant operations and compliance with safety and regulatory requirements. Role includes preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance activities on a rotating schedule/rotating shifts. ***Key responsibilities*** * Maintenance execution * Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair rotating and static equipment; perform alignments, balancing, coupling, bearing, seal, and shaft repairs. * Execute mechanical overhauls, pipework repairs, valve maintenance, pressure\-retaining equipment servicing, and mechanical modifications. * Planned \& preventive maintenance * Develop and follow PM schedules; perform routine inspections, lubrication, vibration checks, thermography, and condition monitoring. * Predictive maintenance \& reliability * Support vibration analysis, infrared thermography, oil analysis, and other predictive techniques; recommend reliability improvements and run\-to\-failure vs. replace decisions. * Shutdowns \& turnarounds * Plan, coordinate, and execute shutdown/turnaround activities for major mechanical scopes; manage work packs, permits, vendors, and QA/QC during outages. * Technical documentation \& reporting * Prepare maintenance reports, failure root\-cause analyses (RCA), repair manuals, and update equipment histories and CMMS records. * Spare parts \& tools management * Recommend critical spares, support parts procurement, maintain tool calibration records, and ensure availability of fixtures and lifting equipment. * Safety, compliance \& permits * Work under confined\-space, hot\-work, and permit\-to\-work systems; follow HSE policies, ensure mechanical integrity and compliance with codes (ASME/API/ISO), and participate in incident investigations. * Coordinate with operations, planning, instrumentation, and contractors; may supervise technicians and contractors during maintenance activities. ***Qualifications*** * Education: Diploma or Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Technology, or equivalent. * Experience: 5\+ years mechanical maintenance experience with rotating and static equipment in oil \& gas, petrochemical, utilities, or heavy industry; experience with turnarounds preferred. * Technical skills: Knowledge of rotating equipment alignment, vibration analysis, sealing systems, pumps, compressors, turbines, heat exchangers, valves, piping systems, and pressure equipment. * Standards \& tools: Familiarity with CMMS (Maximo/IFS/Sap PM), vibration analysis tools, thermography, NDT methods, lifting equipment, and mechanical drawings/P\&IDs. * Certifications (preferred): API, ASME\-related courses, NDT, PSV/relief valve testing, rigging \& lifting, confined\-space, and OSHA/HSE safety training. * Personal: Strong troubleshooting, planning, attention to detail, physical fitness for site work, and ability to work rotating shifts and emergency call\-outs. ***Performance indicators*** * Equipment availability/uptime: meet or exceed plant targets. * Mean time to repair (MTTR): reduction over time. * Compliance: zero major safety/mechanical integrity incidents. * Shutdown/turnaround delivery: on\-time and within budget. * Work order closure and CMMS data accuracy: ≥95%.
