This role extends beyond beverage creation and remains fundamentally a guest service profession. Bartenders must use their knowledge and expertise to make the bar pleasant and fully functional. They must be able to communicate and collaborate effectively with the entire hotel team—and with the broader community—as well as anticipate and respond to guests’ needs. It is essential to be genuinely committed to guest service and attentive to detail—from the moment money changes hands at the bar, to beverage quality, to the advice provided to guests. Regardless of your role, certain fundamentals are critical to success: creating a safe workplace, adhering to company policies and procedures or confidentiality requirements, and safeguarding company values through personal appearance—including proper uniform standards. Bartenders must remain standing and moving for extended periods (standing, sitting, walking, etc.), engage physically in tasks (moving, lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling objects weighing up to 25 pounds (11.4 kg) unassisted), and reach items overhead or on the floor—requiring bending and body rotation. Employees must perform all such tasks flawlessly so that our guests remain consistently satisfied and our business continues to thrive.
