**Position Title:** Road Design Engineer **Department:** Roads \& Highways / Design **Reports to:** Senior Road Engineer / Infrastructure Design Manager **Location:** Qatar **Availability:** *Add if needed:* ***Must be available to join immediately*** **Position Overview:** The Road Design Engineer will be responsible for delivering high\-quality design for roads, highways, and associated infrastructure in accordance with Qatar standards and international best practices. This role is fully design\-oriented within a consultant environment, covering geometric design, pavement design, utilities coordination, and preparation of technical engineering deliverables. **Key Responsibilities:** * Develop concept, preliminary, and detailed designs for roads and highways, including: * Horizontal \& vertical alignment * Cross sections * Intersections \& roundabouts * Road corridors \& earthworks * Sight distance analysis * Prepare drawings, design reports, BOQs, specifications, and calculations. * Perform pavement design and evaluation as required. * Use design software such as **Civil 3D, MX Road/OpenRoads, AutoCAD**. * Ensure designs comply with Ashghal (PWA) standards, Qatar Highway Design Manual (QHDM), QCS, and relevant international codes. * Coordinate with utility, structural, geotechnical, and drainage teams to ensure integrated designs. * Conduct design reviews and support technical submissions for authorities. * Prepare presentations, design basis statements, and tender deliverables. * Review work prepared by CAD/BIM technicians to ensure accuracy and quality. * Participate in technical meetings and respond to design queries. **Qualifications \& Experience:** * **Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering** (Master’s preferred). * **Minimum 7–10 years of experience** in road/highway design within a consultancy/design office. * Strong expertise in geometric design using Civil 3D / MX Road. * Familiarity with Ashghal, QHDM, and Qatar standards (mandatory for Qatar roles). * Experience preparing complete design packages for tenders and IFC. * Good understanding of pavement design principles. * Strong knowledge of design coordination with wet/dry utilities.
