Lead incident response, root-cause analysis, and postmortems **Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer — Job DescriptionAbout the role** Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer responsible for designing, building, and operating scalable, secure, and cost\-effective cloud platforms and core infrastructure to enable rapid, reliable software delivery. **Key responsibilities** * Architect, deploy, and operate cloud infrastructure across one or more providers (AWS/GCP/Azure) using Infrastructure as Code. * Design and implement network, security, identity, and storage architectures (VPCs, subnets, NSGs, load balancers, IAM). * Build and maintain CI/CD platform components and developer self\-service tools to accelerate delivery. * Manage container platforms and orchestration (Kubernetes/EKS/GKE/AKS) including cluster lifecycle, upgrades, and multi\-cluster strategies. * Implement automation for provisioning, configuration management, and runbook\-driven operations. * Operate monitoring, logging, and tracing stacks; define SLOs/SLIs and drive reliability improvements. * Lead incident response, root\-cause analysis, and postmortems; implement remediation and preventive measures. * Implement secrets management, key rotation, and secure configuration practices. * Optimize cloud cost and resource utilization; implement tagging, budgeting, and rightsizing processes. * Mentor and technical lead other engineers; define best practices, standards, and onboarding docs. * Evaluate and introduce new cloud services, patterns, and third\-party tools to improve platform capability. **Required qualifications** * 5\+ years hands\-on experience operating cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure). * Strong IaC experience (Terraform, CloudFormation, Pulumi). * Deep knowledge of networking and security in the cloud (VPC, routing, NSGs, IAM, KMS). * Experience running Kubernetes at scale and container tooling (Docker, Helm, operators). * Proficient scripting/programming (Python, Go, Bash, or similar) for automation. * Experience with CI/CD systems (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, ArgoCD). * Familiar with monitoring and observability (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/Opensearch, Jaeger/Tempo). * Proven incident management and on\-call experience. * Strong collaboration, documentation, and mentoring skills. **Preferred qualifications** * Cloud certifications (AWS/GCP/Azure Professional). * Experience with service meshes, GitOps, Vault/Consul, or HashiCorp stack. * Background in platform engineering, multi\-cloud, or hybrid\-cloud deployments. * Experience with regulated environments (SOC2, PCI, HIPAA) and security/compliance tooling. * Familiarity with Terraform module design and CI for IaC.
