**Job Summary**
The Sustainable Projects Development Officer is responsible for identifying, evaluating, and developing commercially viable projects that generate both **financial returns and measurable social impact**.
The role focuses on transforming promising development and investment ideas into **well\-structured, implementation\-ready opportunities** through market research, feasibility assessment, business model development, financial analysis, and project planning.
**Key Responsibilities**
**1\. Opportunity Identification \& Project Development**
* Identify and assess sustainable investment and development opportunities in target markets.
* Explore opportunities across priority sectors, including water, food, agriculture, education, healthcare, housing, and logistics.
* Develop innovative project concepts that combine commercial sustainability with measurable social and developmental impact.
* Transform initial concepts into structured, practical, and implementation\-ready project proposals.
* Develop scalable and replicable project models suitable for implementation across different markets and regions.
**2\. Feasibility Studies \& Business Modeling**
* Lead and coordinate preliminary and detailed feasibility assessments for proposed projects.
* Develop comprehensive project proposals covering:
* Market opportunity and demand.
* Project scope and operating model.
* Revenue and business model.
* Financing structure and capital requirements.
* Implementation requirements and timeline.
* Key risks and mitigation measures.
* Expected financial and social impact.
* Evaluate the commercial, operational, and developmental viability of proposed opportunities.
* Coordinate with the Financial Analyst to develop financial models, forecasts, investment scenarios, and return assessments.
**3\. Market Research \& Investment Analysis**
* Conduct market, sector, and country research to identify attractive development investment opportunities.
* Analyze market size, demand, competition, regulatory environment, operating conditions, and potential barriers to entry.
* Assess political, economic, operational, financial, and implementation risks associated with proposed projects.
* Convert market intelligence and research findings into clear, actionable investment recommendations.
* Build and maintain a structured pipeline and database of potential investment opportunities.
**4\. Project Pipeline Management**
* Manage and follow up on projects throughout the evaluation and development stages.
* Track progress, outstanding requirements, risks, decisions, and next steps for each opportunity.
* Support the development of priority projects, including water well drilling, ready\-made food production, agricultural projects, and other initiatives identified by management.
* Coordinate with internal teams, technical specialists, consultants, partners, and other stakeholders to obtain the information required for project evaluation.
* Ensure project proposals are sufficiently developed before being presented for investment or implementation decisions.
**5\. Investment Recommendations \& Management Reporting**
* Prepare professional investment proposals, business cases, feasibility reports, and executive presentations.
* Present project findings, investment opportunities, risks, and recommendations to senior management and the Board of Directors.
* Provide clear recommendations on whether opportunities should be **pursued, revised, deferred, or rejected**.
* Support management in prioritizing projects based on strategic alignment, financial attractiveness, feasibility, risk, and expected social impact.
* Monitor international best practices and emerging models in sustainable and development investment and identify opportunities for their application.
**Qualifications \& Experience**
**Education**
* Bachelor's degree in **Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Engineering, Development Studies, Project Management**, or a related field.
* A Master's degree, MBA, or relevant professional certification is an advantage.
**Professional Experience**
Minimum **5 years of relevant experience** in one or more of the following areas:
* Project development.
* Investment analysis or investment development.
* Feasibility studies.
* Business development.
* Sustainable or impact investment.
* International development organizations.
* Experience working with projects in emerging or developing markets is highly desirable.
* Practical exposure to one or more priority sectors such as **agriculture, water, food, education, healthcare, housing, or logistics** is preferred.
