A Civil/Structural Engineer is a professional responsible for the planning, design, and supervision of construction projects to ensure they are safe, structurally sound, and compliant with all technical and regulatory requirements. The role can be broken down into key areas of responsibility: **Core Responsibilities \& Duties** **Design and Analysis** * Prepare, review, and approve detailed structural drawings and specifications for elements like foundations, beams, columns, and slabs. * Analyze structural systems using software such as AutoCAD, Revit, STAAD.Pro, ETABS, or SAP2000\. * Perform structural calculations for load\-bearing capacity, stress, strain, and deflection. **Project Management \& Coordination** * Collaborate with architects and other engineering disciplines to integrate structural components into the overall design. * Assist in preparing project schedules, cost estimates, and resource plans; monitor timelines and milestones. * Communicate with clients, consultants, and government authorities; coordinate design and construction efforts. **Site Supervision \& Quality Control** * Conduct regular site inspections to monitor construction progress and ensure compliance with approved designs and safety standards. * Review and approve shop drawings, material submittals, and method statements. * Supervise contractors and subcontractors to ensure proper execution of structural works. **Compliance \& Documentation** * Maintain accurate records of site activities, inspection reports, and test results. * Prepare technical reports, as\-built drawings, and handover documentation. * Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations. * Ensure all designs comply with local and international building codes and regulations. **Required Qualifications \& Skills** **Education** * A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field is the foundational requirement. * A Master's degree is often preferred for advanced positions or specialisation. * Graduating from a program accredited by a relevant body (like ABET) is important for career progression. **Licensing \& Certification** * Professional Engineer (PE) license or Chartered Engineer status is often required depending on the country and local laws. * Passing the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam is strongly preferred for entry\-level roles. **Technical Skills** * Proficiency in structural analysis and design software (AutoCAD, Revit, STAAD.Pro, ETABS, SAP2000, Tekla). * Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials (steel, concrete), and relevant standards (Eurocodes, AISC, ACI, etc.). **Essential Soft Skills** * Excellent problem\-solving and decision\-making abilities. * Strong communication and teamwork skills. * Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines Pay: QAR98,000\.00 \- QAR170,000\.00 per year Work Location: In person
