Troubleshoot and resolve complex network problems A Network Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, managing, and supporting an organization’s computer networks. This includes local area networks (LAN), wide area networks (WAN), and other data communications systems. The role ensures network stability, security, and efficiency to support business operations and technological growth. **Key Responsibilities:** * **Network Design and Implementation** * Plan, design, and deploy network infrastructure (routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points). * Implement network solutions for on\-premises and cloud environments. * Perform network capacity planning and scalability assessments. * **Network Administration** * Monitor network performance and troubleshoot connectivity issues. * Configure and maintain network hardware and software. * Manage network access controls and user permissions. * **Security and Compliance** * Ensure networks are secure from internal and external threats. * Implement firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection/prevention systems. * Maintain compliance with company policies and relevant regulations. * **Maintenance and Troubleshooting** * Diagnose and resolve network problems promptly. * Perform regular network maintenance and updates. * Collaborate with IT teams to support end\-users and applications. * **Documentation and Reporting** * Maintain network diagrams, configurations, and documentation. * Generate performance and security reports. * Provide recommendations for network upgrades and improvements. **Required Skills and Qualifications:** * Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. * Strong understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, BGP, OSPF, etc.). * Hands\-on experience with routers, switches, firewalls, and other network devices. * Knowledge of cloud networking (AWS, Azure, or GCP) is a plus. * Problem\-solving and analytical skills. * Good communication skills for collaborating with teams and stakeholders. * Certifications such as **CCNA, CCNP, CompTIA Network\+** are often preferred.
