




Location Doha, Qatar Experience * Job Type Recruitment Job Description **Job Title: Electrical Technician** **Location:** Qatar **Project Duration:** 11 Months **Position:** Electrical Technician **Qualifications \& Requirements** * Fluent in English (speaking, reading, and writing). * High School Certificate required. * Three\-year technical engineering diploma in Electrical Engineering (Polytechnic/HND) preferred. * Alternatively, a two\-year relevant trade certificate (ITI/ND) with appropriate experience from a recognized institution. * Minimum of 3 **years of experience** as an Electrical Technician in aluminum smelters, petrochemical plants, or heavy industry. * Ability to independently perform tasks typical of this craft. * Experience in aluminum smelters, power plants, petrochemical, oil \& gas plants is an added advantage. **Job Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):** * Adhere to plant safety standards and procedures; maintain awareness of safety hazards in heavy industries such as aluminum smelters and petrochemical plants. * Follow standard maintenance procedures and manufacturer’s troubleshooting guidelines. * Properly use and maintain test and calibration equipment. * Maintain good housekeeping practices within work areas. * Use standard instruments to measure voltage, current, speed, rotation, and vibration. * Troubleshoot and repair ground faults. * Repair and maintain electrical motors up to 500 HP, including bearing and seal replacements, motor installation, starter connections, and circuit wiring. * Perform maintenance of battery standby systems including UPS and inverters. * Read and interpret electrical, relay logic, and schematic diagrams for troubleshooting and repairs. * Install conduit, wiring, enclosures, controls, and connections up to 480V for new construction. * Repair and maintain cathodic protection systems, overhead cranes, automatic overhead doors, and other electrically operated equipment. * Splice cables up to 500 MCM. * Read and interpret high\-voltage schematics up to 33kV, including maintenance and repair of 10 MVA transformers. * Work safely at elevated heights. * Assist and participate in general maintenance activities beyond normal assigned tasks. * Perform preventive maintenance on electrical equipment as per established procedures. * Prepare technical reports, fill forms, and update drawings and documentation as required. * Ensure safe and proper care of tools. * Collaborate effectively with operations, technical, and maintenance teams. * Improve equipment reliability and contribute to reducing maintenance costs. * Participate in company safety initiatives and training programs. * Train subordinates and coworkers; report work progress and maintenance activities. **Voltage Classification** * **Low Voltage (LV):** 1000V AC or 1500V DC. Systems up to 1500V DC rising to 1650V temporarily due to process fluctuation are still considered LV. * **High Voltage (HV):** \> 1000V AC or 1500V DC.
