Summary: This role involves performing and supervising laboratory experiments for diagnosis and treatment of illnesses, focusing on isolating, identifying, and monitoring microorganisms. Highlights: 1. Perform and supervise a wide range of laboratory experiments 2. Isolate, identify, and monitor microorganisms for study and diagnosis 3. Investigate relationships between organisms and disease, including epidemics * Perform wide range of laboratory experiments that are used in the diagnosis and treatment of illnesses. * Supervise / Monitor the work of biological technicians and other workers and evaluate the accuracy of their results. * Isolate and maintain cultures of bacteria or other microorganisms for study / diagnosis as required. * Identify and classify microorganisms found in specimens collected from humans, plants, animals, or the environment. * Monitor the effect of microorganisms on human, plants, animals, other microorganisms, or the environment. * To ensure that patient confidentiality is maintained at all times. * To be responsible and managerially accountable for the reasonable and effective use of any resources that you use and influence, and professionally accountable to the Medical Director. * Record, analyze and interpret data \& Ensure data is recorded accurately in accordance with guidelines. * Remain up to date with scientific and research developments. * Validate microbiological methods to meet client requirements, as appropriate * Observe action of microorganisms upon living tissues of plants, higher animals, and other microorganisms, and on dead organic matter. * Investigate the relationship between organisms and disease, including the control of epidemics and the effects of antibiotics on microorganisms. * Able to Use a variety of specialized equipment * To undertake duties as defined within the relevant attached job plan in so far as practicable and in agreement with your lead clinician and clinical director Job Types: Full\-time, Contract
