Opportunity for on-the-job training **Job Description: Waiter/Waitress** **Job Overview** Waiters and waitresses—also called servers—are the frontline staff responsible for ensuring guests have a positive dining experience. They take orders, serve food and beverages, and attend to customer needs throughout their meal . This role requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast\-paced environment. **Key Responsibilities** **Guest Service** * **Greet and seat guests** warmly upon arrival, present menus, and guide them through the dining experience * **Take accurate food and beverage orders**, noting special requests and dietary restrictions * **Explain menu items**, daily specials, and ingredients, and make recommendations to enhance the guest's dining experience * **Check on guests regularly** to ensure satisfaction, refill drinks, and promptly address any concerns or special requests * **Process payments** accurately, including cash, credit, and debit transactions, and provide change and receipts * **Thank guests upon departure** and invite them to return **Food and Beverage Service** * **Relay orders to the kitchen and bar** via point\-of\-sale (POS) system, ensuring accuracy * **Serve food and beverages promptly**, ensuring proper presentation and temperature * **Prepare certain menu items**, such as assembling garnishes, brewing coffee, or portioning desserts * **Maintain table settings**, clear dishes as courses are completed, and reset tables for new guests **Operations and Cleanliness** * **Set up dining areas and service stations**, including refilling napkin holders, salt and pepper shakers, and condiment dispensers * **Maintain cleanliness and organization** of the dining area, tables, and work stations * **Coordinate with kitchen and bar staff** to ensure smooth and timely service * **Perform opening and closing duties**, including side work and station cleanup * **Adhere to health, safety, and hygiene regulations**, including proper food handling and sanitation practices **Additional Duties** * **Verify identification** for alcohol purchases and comply with responsible serving practices * **Upsell and cross\-sell** menu items, specials, and beverages to enhance the dining experience and increase sales * **Attend pre\-shift meetings** with managers and chefs to discuss menu changes, specials, and guest needs * **Handle guest complaints professionally**, escalating to management when necessary **QualificationsEducation and Experience** * No formal education is typically required to enter the occupation; on\-the\-job training is provided * A high school diploma may be preferred by some employers * Previous experience as a waiter/waitress or in a customer service role is preferred but not always required * Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply **Required Skills** * **Communication skills**: Must listen to customers, ask questions, and relay information to kitchen staff clearly * **Customer\-service skills**: Friendly, polite demeanor with the ability to build rapport with guests * **Detail oriented**: Accuracy in recording orders and matching them to the correct guests * **Multitasking**: Ability to manage multiple tables and tasks efficiently in a fast\-paced environment * **Teamwork**: Ability to work collaboratively with kitchen and other front\-of\-house staff * **Physical stamina**: Ability to stand, walk, and carry heavy trays for extended periods * **Basic math skills**: For handling payments and calculating tips * **Knowledge of food and beverage menus**, including dietary restrictions and allergies **Certifications (May Be Required)** * Food Handlers Certification * Alcohol Service Licensing or certification (depending on state/local law) * CPR certification and/or first aid training may be preferred Pay: QAR1,128\.33 \- QAR4,746\.96 per month Work Location: In person
