Job Summary
The Procurement Manager is responsible for planning, directing, and managing the organization's procurement activities to ensure the timely, cost\-effective, and quality purchase of goods, services, and equipment. The role focuses on developing procurement strategies, managing supplier relationships, negotiating contracts, ensuring compliance with company policies, and achieving cost savings while maintaining quality and service standards.
Key Responsibilities
Procurement Planning
* Develop Group Procurement SOP, Policy Etc.
* Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with organizational objectives.
* Prepare annual procurement plans and budgets.
* Forecast procurement requirements based on operational needs.
* Ensure uninterrupted availability of materials and services.
Supplier Management
* Identify, evaluate, and qualify new suppliers.
* Develop and maintain strategic relationships with key suppliers.
* Conduct supplier performance evaluations.
* Resolve supplier performance issues and implement corrective actions.
Purchasing \& Contract Management
* Manage the complete procurement cycle from requisition to purchase order.
* Negotiate pricing, payment terms, delivery schedules, and service agreements.
* Review and administer supplier contracts.
* Ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
Cost Control
* Identify opportunities for cost reduction and process improvement.
* Conduct market research and price benchmarking.
* Ensure edging level of proper cash flow.
* Optimize procurement costs without compromising quality.
* Monitor procurement expenditures against approved budgets.
Inventory \& Supply Management
* Coordinate with warehouse and operations teams to maintain optimal inventory levels.
* Monitor stock availability and prevent shortages or excess inventory.
* Support inventory optimization initiatives.
Compliance \& Governance
* Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies and regulatory requirements.
* Maintain transparency and ethical procurement practices.
* Ensure proper documentation and audit readiness.
* Implement procurement controls to minimize business risks.
Team Leadership
* Recruitment Suitable Procurement Professional Either Internal or External.
* Lead, mentor, and develop procurement staff.
* Allocate responsibilities and monitor team performance.
* Conduct performance evaluations and identify training needs.
Vendor Performance Management
* Monitor supplier KPIs including quality, delivery, responsiveness, and cost.
* Conduct regular supplier review meetings.
* Develop supplier improvement plans where necessary.
Reporting
* Prepare procurement performance reports and dashboards.
* Analyze procurement data and present recommendations to management.
* Report procurement savings, supplier performance, and purchasing trends.
Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Business Administration, Commerce, or a related field.
* Professional certification such as CIPS, CPSM, CSCP, or equivalent is preferred.
* MBA is an added advantage.
Experience
* Minimum 15–20 years of procurement experience.
* At least 5 years in a managerial role.
* Experience in logistics, freight forwarding, manufacturing, construction, or related industries is preferred.
