Manage cost control activities and assist with budget forecasting **Job Title:** Project Planning Engineer **Location:** Qatar **Job Summary:** We are looking for an experienced Project Planning Engineer to join a growing team in Mesaieed, Qatar. This is a full\-time office\-based role with occasional site visits. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, managing, and optimizing project schedules, resource plans, and operational strategies to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget. Key Responsibilities * Act as the Planning focal point for all ongoing projects and tenders. * Develop, review, and maintain baseline project schedules using Primavera P6 and other planning tools. * Prepare project execution strategies for Engineering, Procurement, and Construction phases. * Monitor project progress, manpower utilization, and performance against approved schedules. * Prepare weekly and monthly project reports including progress updates, cost reports, forecasts, and look\-ahead schedules. * Coordinate with engineering, procurement, fabrication, workshop, and site teams for schedule updates and execution planning. * Support project managers in daily project activities and reporting requirements. * Conduct schedule analysis, delay analysis, and recommend corrective or recovery actions. * Participate in stakeholder meetings, project reviews, and client progress discussions. * Manage cost control activities and assist with budget forecasting and earned value analysis. * Evaluate schedule impacts arising from change requests and support claims management activities. * Ensure planning procedures and reporting standards are implemented and maintained throughout project lifecycle. * Identify project risks and support mitigation planning and contingency measures. * Liaise with finance and project teams to maintain accurate man\-hour budgets and forecasting. Requirements * Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field. * Minimum 8\+ years of relevant experience in project planning and controls. * Strong knowledge of WBS, CBS structures, project controls, and reporting systems. * Proven experience in industrial construction and fabrication projects. * Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6, MS Project, Power BI, and Excel\-based reporting systems. * Strong understanding of progress measurement, cost control, forecasting, and earned value management. * Excellent communication, coordination, and stakeholder management skills. * Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities effectively. Preferred * GCC experience is preferred. * Fabrication and construction background will be an advantage. Work Location: In person
