Build and maintain strong relationships with key industry stakeholders We are seeking a highly driven and commercially focused **Business Development Manager** to lead business growth initiatives, strengthen market presence, and secure new project opportunities within Qatar’s construction sector. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing strategic client relationships, identifying profitable opportunities, managing tender pipelines, and driving revenue growth through the acquisition of major construction projects. This role requires a strong network within the Qatar construction industry, proven business development success, and the ability to build long\-term partnerships with clients, consultants, developers, and government entities. **Key Responsibilities** **Business Development \& Growth Strategy** * Develop and execute business development strategies to achieve revenue growth and market expansion. * Identify and pursue new opportunities across construction, infrastructure, and engineering sectors. * Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and emerging business opportunities. * Support the achievement of long\-term business objectives and sustainable growth initiatives. **Client Acquisition \& Relationship Management** * Build and maintain strong relationships with developers, consultants, PMCs, government entities, and key industry stakeholders. * Lead client engagement activities and identify upcoming projects and tender opportunities. * Position the company as a preferred contractor through proactive relationship management. * Ensure high levels of client satisfaction and business retention. **Tendering \& Opportunity Management** * Identify and secure prequalification opportunities, RFPs, tenders, and negotiated projects. * Coordinate with Estimation, Commercial, Contracts, Procurement, and Operations teams during bid preparation. * Monitor tender pipelines and maintain accurate records of opportunities and bid statuses. * Support the preparation of competitive technical and commercial proposals. **Commercial Development \& Revenue Generation** * Drive project acquisition initiatives and convert qualified leads into secured contracts. * Support commercial negotiations, contract discussions, and strategic agreements. * Contribute directly to annual sales, revenue, and profitability targets. * Ensure opportunities align with company growth objectives and commercial goals. **Strategic Partnerships \& Market Positioning** * Develop strategic alliances with consultants, developers, subcontractors, suppliers, and industry partners. * Represent the company at networking events, exhibitions, conferences, and business forums. * Promote Shelter Construction’s capabilities, project portfolio, and value proposition. * Enhance brand visibility and strengthen market positioning across Qatar. **Proposal Development \& Presentations** * Lead the preparation of capability statements, prequalification submissions, presentations, and marketing materials. * Deliver persuasive business presentations and project pitches to prospective clients. * Ensure all submissions accurately reflect the company’s strengths, experience, and technical capabilities. **Market Intelligence \& Reporting** * Maintain a comprehensive database of clients, prospects, consultants, and competitors. * Prepare sales forecasts, pipeline reports, opportunity analyses, and business development updates. * Provide management with market insights and strategic recommendations. * Support decision\-making through accurate business intelligence reporting. **Requirements** ✔ Bachelor's Degree in **Business Administration, Marketing, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline**. ✔ MBA or equivalent postgraduate qualification is an advantage. ✔ **8–12 years of progressive experience** in: * Business Development * Sales \& Marketing * Commercial Management * Client Relationship Management within the **construction, contracting, infrastructure, or engineering sectors**. ✔ Proven track record in securing major construction projects and achieving revenue growth targets. ✔ Demonstrated success in developing strategic relationships with: * Clients * Consultants * Developers * Government Entities * PMCs ✔ Strong understanding of: * Construction Contracts * Tendering Processes * Procurement Procedures * Commercial Management * Project Delivery Methodologies ✔ Excellent networking, negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills. ✔ Strong commercial acumen and strategic thinking capabilities. ✔ Experience using CRM and pipeline management platforms such as: * Salesforce * HubSpot * Microsoft Dynamics CRM ✔ Working knowledge of Qatar tendering platforms and government procurement portals is highly desirable. **Preferred Candidate Profile** ✔ Minimum **5 years of experience within the GCC construction market**. ✔ Established network of clients, consultants, developers, and key stakeholders in Qatar. ✔ Proven experience securing projects valued at **QAR 50 Million\+ individually** or significant annual project portfolios. ✔ Professional certifications such as: * PMP * APMP * CIOB * RICS * or equivalent professional memberships are highly preferred. ✔ Arabic language proficiency is an advantage.
