Oversee risk and ensure compliance About the Role Koramint is seeking an experienced **Commodities Trading Director** to lead and develop the company’s commodities trading activities across regional and international markets. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing trading strategies, identifying profitable market opportunities, managing commercial relationships, and overseeing the performance and risk of the company’s trading portfolio. This position requires a strong understanding of commodity markets, excellent commercial judgment, and the ability to make timely decisions in a dynamic market environment. The Director will work closely with senior management, suppliers, customers, financial institutions, logistics partners, and other market participants to strengthen Koramint’s trading activities and support sustainable business growth. Key Responsibilities * Develop and execute the company’s commodities trading strategy in line with business objectives and risk appetite. * Lead physical and/or financial commodity trading activities across relevant regional and international markets. * Identify market opportunities through analysis of commodity prices, supply and demand, freight, currency movements, geopolitical developments, and market trends. * Manage the trading portfolio, including profitability, exposure, liquidity, working capital, and overall commercial performance. * Establish and maintain strong relationships with producers, suppliers, trading houses, customers, financial institutions, and other counterparties. * Negotiate and structure commercial agreements, supply contracts, trading transactions, and strategic partnerships. * Monitor price, basis, freight, currency, credit, and counterparty risks and ensure appropriate controls and hedging strategies are implemented. * Ensure all trading activities comply with company policies, applicable laws, contractual obligations, and international trade requirements. * Work closely with finance, legal, operations, logistics, and risk teams to ensure efficient execution of transactions. * Provide senior management with regular reports on trading performance, market conditions, opportunities, and risk exposure. * Lead, mentor, and develop trading and commercial personnel while establishing a high\-performance culture. * Continuously evaluate new markets, commodities, counterparties, and trading opportunities to expand the company’s commercial reach. Qualifications * Bachelor’s degree in **Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, International Trade, or a related discipline** from a recognized institution. * **15\+ years of professional experience** in commodities trading, energy trading, oil and gas, metals, agricultural commodities, or a closely related trading environment. * At least **5 years of experience in a senior management, trading leadership, or portfolio management position**. * Demonstrated track record of developing and executing profitable commodity trading strategies. * Strong understanding of physical commodity markets, derivatives, hedging, trade finance, logistics, and commodity supply chains. * Strong knowledge of market risk, counterparty risk, credit exposure, and trading controls. * Proven experience negotiating high\-value commercial transactions and managing strategic counterparties. * Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with the ability to interpret complex market and financial information. * Excellent commercial judgment and the ability to make risk\-based decisions under time pressure. * Strong leadership, negotiation, communication, and stakeholder\-management skills. * Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other analytical/trading systems; experience with **ETRM/CTRM platforms** is highly desirable. * Excellent written and spoken English.
