The primary responsibility is to transport packages, documents, food orders, or medical supplies from one location to another within a designated timeframe. The ideal candidate must have excellent navigational skills, a clean driving record, and a commitment to providing exceptional customer service. **Key Responsibilities** **Pickup \& Delivery** * Safely pick up and deliver packages, mail, goods, and food items to specified locations. * Plan and follow the most efficient routes to ensure timely deliveries. * Verify the accuracy of delivery addresses and recipient information before departure. * Obtain signatures, scan barcodes, or collect payments upon delivery as required. **Vehicle \& Equipment Maintenance** * Perform pre\-trip and post\-trip inspections of the delivery vehicle (tires, oil, lights, brakes). * Keep the vehicle clean, organized, and fueled. * Report any mechanical issues or accidents to management immediately. **Documentation \& Records** * Maintain accurate logs of deliveries, mileage, fuel consumption, and vehicle maintenance. * Use handheld scanners, GPS devices, or mobile apps to track shipments. * Ensure all delivery paperwork is completed and submitted daily. **Customer Service** * Interact professionally with customers, clients, and business partners during pickups and deliveries. * Handle customer inquiries and resolve delivery issues (e.g., missed deliveries, damaged goods) with a positive attitude. * Represent the company with a professional appearance and demeanor. **Safety \& Compliance** * Adhere to all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies. * Ensure packages are properly loaded and secured to prevent damage during transit. * Follow hazardous material handling procedures (if applicable). **Qualifications \& RequirementsEducation \& Experience** * High school diploma or equivalent (preferred). * Proven experience as a courier, delivery driver, or similar role (1\+ year preferred). * Experience using GPS devices, route optimization apps, and handheld scanners. **Licenses \& Certifications** * Valid driver’s license (Class C or equivalent). * Clean driving record (no major violations in the past 3 years). * Must be at least 21 years of age (for insurance purposes, if applicable). * DOT medical card (if driving a vehicle over 10,000 lbs). **Skills \& Competencies** * **Time Management:** Ability to meet strict deadlines. * **Navigational Skills:** Strong knowledge of local roads, highways, and shortcuts. * **Physical Stamina:** Ability to lift, carry, and move packages up to 50–75 lbs repeatedly. * **Attention to Detail:** Accuracy in handling addresses, paperwork, and payments. * **Communication:** Clear verbal communication skills for interacting with dispatchers and customers. * **Problem\-Solving:** Quick thinking to handle traffic delays, wrong addresses, or vehicle issues.
