**Job Summary**
A Site Electrical Engineer directly oversees the day\-to\-day installation, execution, and supervision of electrical works on a construction site. While a design engineer works in an office and a QA/QC engineer focuses strictly on compliance, the site engineer is physically on the ground managing labor, progress, and immediate problem\-solving.
**Core Duties and Responsibilities**
**Site Supervision and Execution**
* Supervise daily electrical installation works including containment, cabling, lighting, and power.
* Direct site electricians, foremen, and subcontractors to meet daily work targets.
* Interpret approved shop drawings and ensure site teams execute them accurately.
* Manage site materials, tools, and equipment to prevent shortages or damage.
**Progress Monitoring and Reporting**
* Track daily progress against the master construction schedule.
* Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports for the project manager.
* Identify potential delays and implement recovery plans to keep work on track.
* Measure completed quantities of work for subcontractor payment verifications
**Technical Coordination**
* Resolve day\-to\-day technical issues and clashes with civil or mechanical layouts.
* Raise Requests for Information (RFIs) to the design team when drawings lack clarity.
* Coordinate with the site surveyor to establish accurate reference points for equipment placement.
* Assist the procurement team by raising material requisitions based on site needs.
**Safety and Quality Control**
* Enforce strict site safety protocols to prevent electrical and construction hazards.
* Conduct daily toolbox talks with the workforce regarding safe working practices.
* Coordinate with the QA/QC team to raise Inspection Requests (IRs) for completed works.
* Ensure all installations comply with the project specifications and approved method statements
**Testing and Handover**
* Support the testing and commissioning team during the final startup of electrical systems.
* Mark up red\-line drawings on site to reflect the exact "As\-Built" conditions.
* Help clear punch list items to secure final handing over certificates from the consultant.
