Coordination with project teams and contract administration Mechanical Quantity Surveyor – Job Description **Job Title:** Mechanical Quantity Surveyor **Location:** Qatar **Employment Type:** Full\-Time Job Overview We are looking for an experienced **Mechanical Quantity Surveyor** to manage the commercial and contractual aspects of mechanical works, including HVAC, plumbing, firefighting, and other MEP systems. The candidate will be responsible for quantity take\-offs, cost estimation, variations, interim payments, subcontractor valuations, and cost control throughout the project lifecycle. Key Responsibilities * Prepare detailed **quantity take\-offs and BOQs** for mechanical works. * Review drawings, specifications, contracts, and tender documents. * Prepare cost estimates, budgets, and pricing for mechanical works. * Evaluate quotations from suppliers and subcontractors. * Prepare and review **interim payment applications and payment certificates**. * Measure and value completed mechanical works on site. * Monitor project costs against approved budgets. * Prepare and evaluate **variation orders, claims, and additional works**. * Review subcontractor applications, invoices, and supporting documents. * Maintain accurate records of quantities, costs, variations, and commitments. * Coordinate with Project Managers, Engineers, Procurement, Planning, and Site Teams. * Assist in contract administration and commercial negotiations. * Identify cost\-saving opportunities without compromising quality or project requirements. * Prepare monthly commercial reports and cost forecasts. * Ensure all commercial activities comply with contract requirements and company procedures. * Support final account preparation and project close\-out. Qualifications \& Requirements * Bachelor’s Degree / Diploma in **Quantity Surveying, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field**. * Minimum **5 years of experience** as a Mechanical Quantity Surveyor. * Experience in **MEP / HVAC / Plumbing / Firefighting** projects is preferred. * Strong knowledge of mechanical construction materials, systems, and installation methods. * Proficient in **MS Excel, AutoCAD, and quantity surveying / estimation software**. * Good understanding of BOQ, tendering, variations, claims, and contract administration. * Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and specifications. * Strong analytical, numerical, and negotiation skills. * **Qatar/GCC experience** is preferred. * Candidates who can join immediately will be preferred.
