We are looking for a Software Development Manager who can lead the planning and delivery of business applications, digital platforms and software improvement projects. You will manage a team of developers while working closely with quality assurance, project management, infrastructure and client service teams. This role is suited to an experienced software professional who can combine technical leadership with team management and delivery responsibility. You will help define development standards, guide technical decisions and ensure that software products are delivered according to agreed quality, security and performance expectations. Key Responsibilities **Software Delivery Management:** Lead software projects from requirements analysis and technical planning through development, testing, deployment and maintenance. **Team Leadership:** Manage software engineers, developers and technical leads while assigning responsibilities and monitoring performance. **Technical Architecture:** Review proposed system designs and ensure that applications are scalable, secure, maintainable and aligned with business requirements. **Development Standards:** Establish and maintain coding standards, documentation practices, version control procedures and software development guidelines. **Project Planning:** Prepare delivery plans, resource requirements, development estimates and technical schedules. **Code Quality:** Coordinate code reviews and ensure that development teams follow approved quality, security and performance standards. **Cross Functional Coordination:** Work closely with quality assurance, DevOps, cybersecurity, infrastructure and product teams throughout the development lifecycle. **Requirements Management:** Translate business and client requirements into clear technical specifications, development tasks and measurable outcomes. **Risk Management:** Identify technical risks, delivery concerns and resource constraints and recommend practical mitigation measures. **Performance Monitoring:** Track development progress, software quality, defect levels, release readiness and team productivity. **Release Coordination:** Support application deployment, production releases, rollback planning and post release monitoring. **Stakeholder Communication:** Provide clear updates to clients, management and internal teams regarding development status, technical decisions and delivery risks. **Team Development:** Mentor developers, identify training needs and support career development across the software team. What We Are Looking For **Experience:** At least 7 years of experience in software development, including at least 2 years in a team leadership, technical lead or management role. **Education:** Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or a related discipline. **Technical Knowledge:** Strong understanding of software architecture, application development, databases, application programming interfaces and system integration. **Development Experience:** Practical experience with modern programming languages, frameworks and software development environments. **Leadership:** Ability to manage technical teams, set priorities, review performance and support professional development. **Project Delivery:** Experience managing software projects through planning, development, testing, deployment and support stages. **Quality Awareness:** Strong understanding of automated testing, code review, defect management and continuous improvement practices. **Security Awareness:** Practical knowledge of secure coding principles, access controls, data protection and application security. **Problem Solving:** Ability to assess complex technical issues, compare available options and make sound development decisions. **Communication:** Ability to explain technical matters clearly to developers, managers, clients and nontechnical stakeholders. **Software Tools:** Experience using version control systems, issue tracking platforms, project management tools and continuous integration systems. **Professional Approach:** Strong ownership, organisation and accountability when managing deadlines, technical risks and team responsibilities.
