Review production sheet to understand the variety of bakery products to be produced each day. Prepare and cook food according to recipes, quality and presentation standards, and food preparation checklists. Maintain kitchen logs to comply with food safety program. Keep chef informed of surplus food items for daily menu planning. Use tools, equipment, cooking appliances and measuring devices safely and appropriately to prepare cooked foods. Follow and ensure compliance with safe food handling policies and procedures, including personal hygiene procedures. Check and ensure kitchen equipment and food are at proper temperatures, and report issues to managers. Monitor quality of prepared food and portion sizes served throughout shift. Assist management with hiring, training, scheduling, performance evaluations, motivation and supervision of employees; and serve as a role model. Follow and apply all chain policies and procedures, including those related to safety and security; report accidents, injuries and any work conditions considered hazardous; complete training and obtain required safety certifications. Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional; maintain confidentiality of proprietary information; and protect company assets. Communicate with others using clear, appropriate and professional language, and answer telephones using proper etiquette. Develop and maintain positive, productive working relationships with peers; work together and support each other to achieve common goals; handle sensitive matters with tact, respect and confidentiality. Act as a role model or mentor for the department. Comply with quality expectations and standards. Move, lift, carry, push, pull and place objects weighing up to 25 pounds (11.4 kg) without assistance. Move on sloped, uneven or slippery surfaces. Reach above shoulder heights and below knees, including bending, twisting the body, pulling and stooping. Be accustomed to standing, sitting and moving for extended periods of time. Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by supervisors. RECOMMENDED QUALIFICATIONS Education Level:High school diploma or technical/vocational certificate.
