Summary: This role involves conducting comprehensive quality control testing of aggregates and concrete, monitoring materials, and assisting with mix design development. Highlights: 1. Perform quality control testing of aggregates and concrete 2. Monitor material quality and inspect stockpiles 3. Troubleshoot performance issues and assist in mix design * Perform random sampling and testing of aggregates (fine and coarse) to ensure compliance with ASTM and internal standards (gradation, moisture content, specific gravity, and deleterious materials). * Monitor cement and admixture deliveries for proper documentation and quality. * Inspect aggregate stockpiles for contamination, segregation, or degradation. * Conduct slump tests, air content tests, and temperature measurements on fresh concrete at the plant and jobsite in accordance with ASTM standards. * Prepare, cast, and properly cure concrete cylinders for compressive strength testing. * Perform compressive strength testing on hardened concrete cylinders at various ages (3, 7, 28 days). * Make visual inspections of concrete for workability, finishability, and uniformity. * Adjust batch weights (moisture compensation, admixture dosage) to maintain workability and yield as conditions change throughout the day. * Troubleshoot workability or performance issues in the field. * Assist in the development and implementation of new mix designs.
