Drive continuous improvement for equipment reliability and efficiency Overall Job Purpose To lead, supervise, and mentor the Refrigeration Technicians in the safe and efficient execution of preventive, corrective, and improvement maintenance activities within the plant room. The role is responsible for ensuring the reliable operation of refrigeration systems by providing technical guidance, coordinating maintenance activities, maintaining compliance with safety and quality standards, and driving continuous improvement to maximize equipment reliability, performance, and operational efficiency. Key Responsibilities * Lead, supervise, and mentor the Refrigeration Technicians, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the required quality standards. * Plan, assign, and monitor preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance activities for all plant room refrigeration equipment. * Provide technical guidance and hands\-on support in troubleshooting complex mechanical, electrical, and control system faults. * Coordinate daily maintenance activities and prioritize work orders to minimize equipment downtime. * Inspect, maintain, and oversee repairs to compressors, condensers, evaporators, pumps, valves, cooling towers, heat exchangers, and associated refrigeration equipment. * Monitor refrigeration system performance and recommend improvement initiatives to enhance reliability, energy efficiency, and operational performance. * Ensure refrigerants are handled, recovered, and charged in accordance with company procedures and environmental regulations. * Verify that maintenance records, inspection reports, and equipment history are accurately completed and maintained. * Ensure compliance with all Health, Safety, Environment (HSE), permit\-to\-work, and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) requirements. * Conduct toolbox talks, on\-the\-job training, and coaching to develop the technical competency of refrigeration technicians. * Coordinate with operations, engineering, contractors, and other maintenance disciplines to support plant operations and planned shutdowns. * Participate in root cause analysis (RCA) for equipment failures and implement corrective and preventive actions. * Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and recommend modifications to improve system reliability, maintainability, and energy efficiency. * Respond to emergency breakdowns and lead recovery efforts to restore equipment to service as quickly and safely as possible. * Maintain high housekeeping standards within the plant room and ensure all tools and equipment are properly maintained. Qualifications * ITI in Refrigeration \& Air Conditioning or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (Specialization in Refrigeration). Experience * Minimum 5 years' experience in industrial refrigeration maintenance. * GCC experience preferred. Technical Skills * Basic knowledge of industry standards and maintenance practices. * Ability to read and interpret schematic diagrams, blueprints, and technical drawings. * Knowledge of ammonia refrigeration systems, screw compressors, evaporative condensers, glycol systems, centrifugal pumps, compressed air systems, and snow\-making systems. * Strong troubleshooting and fault\-finding skills. Technology Skills * Proficient in SCADA operation and monitoring. * Familiarity with CMMS is an advantage. Language Skills * Good command of English (mandatory). * Arabic is an advantage.
