Ensure proper airflow and system efficiency in HVAC/MEP **Job Description: Ductman (HVAC / MEP)** A **Ductman** is responsible for the fabrication, installation, maintenance, and repair of ductwork used in heating, ventilation, and air\-conditioning (HVAC) systems. The role involves interpreting drawings, measuring and cutting materials, assembling duct components, and ensuring proper airflow and system efficiency. **Key Responsibilities** * Read and interpret HVAC, MEP, and construction drawings to determine duct layout and installation requirements. * Fabricate duct sections using sheet metal tools and machinery. * Install various types of ductwork (GI, PI, flexible ducts, etc.) according to project specifications. * Fit, assemble, and secure duct sections using appropriate fasteners and supports. * Install insulation, hangers, brackets, dampers, and access panels. * Coordinate with technicians, electricians, and other site workers to ensure proper system integration. * Conduct inspections to ensure duct alignment, air\-tightness, and compliance with quality and safety standards. * Perform repairs, adjustments, and replacements of damaged or leaking ductwork. * Follow site safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work area. **Skills and Qualifications** * Experience in HVAC or sheet\-metal duct installation. * Ability to read technical drawings and blueprints. * Knowledge of tools such as snips, shears, drills, folding machines, and duct\-forming equipment. * Understanding of HVAC airflow principles and industry standards. * Physical ability to lift, climb, and work at heights. * Strong attention to detail and workmanship. * Ability to work independently or as part of a team. **Preferred Qualifications** * Formal training or certification in HVAC, sheet metal work, or MEP trades. * Experience in commercial, industrial, or residential projects. * Knowledge of SMACNA standards.
