Job Description – FloristJob Title Florist Department Operations / Retail Reports To Shop Manager / Operations Manager Job Summary The Florist is responsible for designing, arranging, and preparing floral arrangements for retail sales, special events, weddings, corporate clients, and other occasions. The role includes providing excellent customer service, maintaining the freshness and quality of flowers, managing inventory, and ensuring the shop is clean, attractive, and well\-organized. Key Responsibilities * Design and create fresh flower arrangements, bouquets, centerpieces, and custom floral designs. * Assist customers in selecting flowers and arrangements based on their needs and occasions. * Prepare floral arrangements for weddings, events, birthdays, anniversaries, and corporate orders. * Receive, inspect, and properly store fresh flowers and floral supplies. * Ensure flowers are watered, conditioned, and maintained to maximize freshness. * Maintain cleanliness and organization of the floral display and work area. * Process customer orders accurately and ensure timely delivery or collection. * Monitor stock levels and report inventory requirements. * Assist in ordering flowers, plants, and floral accessories when required. * Handle floral wrapping, gift packaging, and presentation. * Operate the POS system and process sales transactions when required. * Provide excellent customer service and respond professionally to customer inquiries. * Follow health, safety, and company policies at all times. * Perform any other duties assigned by management. Qualifications * High school diploma or equivalent. * Certification or training in floristry is an advantage. Experience * Minimum 1–2 years of experience as a Florist or in a similar role. * Experience in floral design for retail and events is preferred. Skills \& Competencies * Creative floral design and arrangement skills. * Strong customer service and communication skills. * Knowledge of flower care and handling techniques. * Attention to detail and artistic ability. * Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. * Good organizational and time management skills. * Team player with a positive attitude. * Basic computer and POS system knowledge. Working Conditions * Ability to stand for long periods. * Ability to lift and carry flower boxes and supplies. * Flexible to work weekends, holidays, and peak seasons as required.
