Summary: The Engineer – Water Metering is responsible for the installation, testing, commissioning, maintenance, and monitoring of water meters to ensure accurate consumption measurement and compliance with utility standards. Highlights: 1. Oversee installation, testing, and commissioning of water meters. 2. Ensure accurate water consumption measurement and network efficiency. 3. Support troubleshooting and data validation for billing accuracy. The Engineer – Water Metering is responsible for the installation, testing, commissioning, maintenance, and monitoring of water meters across residential, commercial, and industrial customers. The role ensures accurate water consumption measurement, reliable meter performance, and compliance with utility standards, supporting billing accuracy and water network efficiency. **Key Responsibilities** * Supervise installation, replacement, and commissioning of water meters (mechanical and smart water meters). * Ensure correct installation practices for meter chambers, fittings, valves, and associated accessories. * Conduct testing, calibration, and verification of water meters to ensure measurement accuracy. * Monitor meter performance and investigate issues such as leaks, blockages, or abnormal consumption. * Support AMI/AMR integration for water metering systems where applicable. * Perform site inspections to ensure compliance with technical standards and utility requirements. * Coordinate with field teams and contractors for meter\-related works and service requests. * Support troubleshooting of metering faults, pressure issues, and data discrepancies. * Validate consumption data to support accurate billing and revenue assurance. * Maintain records of meter installations, maintenance activities, and asset updates. * Assist in commissioning and handover of new water metering infrastructure. * Ensure compliance with HSE standards and safety procedures during all field activities. * Prepare technical reports, inspection records, and performance summaries. * Coordinate with customers and internal departments for issue resolution and service improvement. **Qualifications \& Requirements** * Bachelor’s degree in instrumentation. mechanical. civil engineering, or related field. * Minimum 9 years of experience in water metering, utilities, or infrastructure projects. * Strong understanding of water distribution systems and metering principles. * Experience in installation, testing, and commissioning of water meters. * Knowledge of flow measurement, pressure systems, and utility billing processes. * Ability to read technical drawings and utility specifications. * Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills. * Good communication and coordination abilities. * Familiarity with AMI/AMR systems is an advantage. * Proficiency in MS Office and reporting tools.
