Supervise junior doctors and participate in multidisciplinary team meetings **Consultant Surgeon** The Consultant Surgeon is responsible for providing high\-quality specialist surgical care, including assessment, diagnosis, operative treatment, and post\-operative management of patients. The role also includes leadership, teaching, and participation in clinical governance, quality improvement, and on\-call duties. **Key Responsibilities** * Evaluate and diagnose patients requiring surgical intervention. * Plan and perform surgical procedures in accordance with accepted clinical standards. * Provide pre\-operative and post\-operative care, including follow\-up and complication management. * Participate in on\-call coverage and emergency surgical services when required. * Supervise junior doctors, residents, and nursing staff, and support their professional development. * Contribute to multidisciplinary team meetings, clinical audits, and quality improvement initiatives. * Maintain accurate medical records and complete required reports and documentation. * Follow hospital policies, patient safety standards, infection control, and ethical guidelines. **Required Qualifications** * Medical degree and specialist postgraduate qualification in surgery. * Valid and active medical license or eligibility for licensure in Qatar. * Consultant\-level experience, often with several years of post\-specialist practice. * Strong communication, decision\-making, and leadership skills. **Preferred Experience** * Prior consultant experience, often in a GCC or Western\-standard hospital setting. * Experience working in a multidisciplinary hospital environment. * Subspecialty experience depending on the department, such as general surgery, vascular surgery, trauma, orthopaedics, or plastic surgery.
