Leads the emergency response team to address all equipment issues. **Candidate Profile** **Education and Experience Requirements** * High school diploma or equivalent (GED); 4 years of experience in engineering maintenance or related field; training in HVAC/refrigeration, electrical, or plumbing technologies. Or * Two-year degree in construction, engineering, mechanical, or related field from an accredited university; 2 years of experience in engineering maintenance or related field; training in HVAC/refrigeration, electrical, or plumbing technologies. **Core Work Activities** **Manage Hotel Operations and Engineering Budget** * Supervises the Engineering Department in the absence of the Director of Engineering. * Assists in managing mechanical equipment, including equipment, refrigeration, HVAC, plumbing, water treatment, electrical, and fire/life safety systems. * Maintains and operates equipment at optimal efficiency, effectiveness, and safety. * Establishes and manages an effective room maintenance program. * Ensures compliance with all Engineering Department policies, standards, and procedures. * Manages controllable departmental expenses to achieve or exceed budget goals. * Selects and orders or procures new equipment, supplies, and furniture. * Inspects and evaluates the physical condition of facilities to determine required work types. * Recommends or arranges additional services such as painting, repair work, renovations, and replacement of furniture and equipment. * Supervises daily operations of the Engineering Department. **Maintain Hotel Standards** * Maintains accurate logs and records as needed. * Assists in effectively planning, scheduling, and evaluating preventive maintenance programs. **Deliver Exceptional Guest Service** * Handles guest issues and complaints efficiently. * Empowers staff to deliver exceptional guest service. * Demonstrates leadership in guest relations by exemplifying exceptional guest service and fostering a positive atmosphere. **Manage Profitability** * Helps prioritize overall hotel maintenance needs. * Ensures continuous communication across all areas of responsibility to enhance awareness of business objectives, expectations, and recognition of exemplary performance. **Manage and Conduct Human Resources Activities** * Celebrates successes and publicly recognizes team members’ contributions. * Builds and maintains open, collaborative relationships with employees. * Ensures fair and equitable treatment of employees. * Strives to improve service performance. * Provides feedback to employees based on observations of service behaviors. * Supervises employees’ ability to execute departmental and hotel emergency procedures. * Reviews employee satisfaction results and identifies and resolves employee concerns or issues. * Solicits employee feedback. * Helps ensure regulatory compliance with equipment regulations and safety standards. * Ensures fair and consistent application of hotel policies, completes disciplinary procedures and documentation per Standards and Local Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs and LSOPs), and supports peer review processes. * Ensures fair and consistent application of hotel policies. *Marriott International is committed to being an equal opportunity employer and welcomes all applicants, providing equal employment opportunities.
