Participate in quality audits and support continuous improvement **Job Description** – QA/QC Engineer (Civil/Construction) **Job Title**: QA/QC Engineer **Location**: Qatar **Department**: Quality Assurance / Quality Control **Employment Type**: Full\-Time **Reporting To**: QA/QC Manager / Project Manager **Job Purpose** The QA/QC Engineer is responsible for implementing and maintaining quality assurance and quality control systems throughout the project lifecycle. The role ensures that construction activities, materials, workmanship, testing, and documentation comply with approved drawings, project specifications, Qatar Construction Specifications (QCS), applicable Qatar authority requirements, ISO 9001 standards, and contractual requirements. **Key Responsibilities** * **Implement and monitor the Project Quality Plan (PQP) and Quality Management System (QMS).** * Prepare, review, and implement Inspection \& Test Plans (ITPs), checklists, method statements, and quality procedures. * **Review material submittals, technical documents, certificates, and approvals for compliance with project specifications.** * Conduct regular site inspections to verify quality of civil/construction works. * **Ensure construction activities are executed according to approved drawings, specifications, method statements, and ITP requirements.** * Coordinate inspections with the Client, Consultant, subcontractors, third\-party laboratories, and project teams. * **Raise and manage Non\-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and ensure corrective/preventive actions are implemented and closed.** * Monitor testing and inspection activities, including concrete, soil, aggregates, asphalt, waterproofing, structural works, and other applicable construction materials. * **Verify test reports, material certificates, calibration certificates, and inspection records.** * Maintain complete and traceable QA/QC documentation and quality records. **Participate in internal, external, client, and consultant quality audits.** * Identify recurring quality issues and support root\-cause analysis and continuous improvement. * **Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly QA/QC reports and quality performance records.** * Coordinate with construction and engineering teams to resolve technical and quality\-related issues. * **Monitor subcontractor and supplier compliance with project quality requirements.** * Support preparation of MIRs, WIRs, inspection requests, test reports, NCR logs, and quality dossiers. * **Ensure all quality documentation is properly maintained for project close\-out and final handover.** * Support commissioning, snagging, punch\-list clearance, and final project handover activities. **Required Qualifications** * **Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or a related engineering discipline.** * Minimum 5–8 years of QA/QC experience in building, infrastructure, fit\-out, or civil construction projects. * **Qatar/GCC project experience is highly preferred.** * Strong knowledge of Qatar Construction Specifications (QCS) and applicable local authority requirements. * **Knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management Systems.** * Previous experience with Ashghal/PWA projects is an advantage for infrastructure roles. * **UPDA/MMUP certification is an advantage and may be mandatory for certain consultancy/supervision positions.** * ISO 9001 Lead Auditor certification is an advantage. **Technical Skills** * **Quality Management System (QMS)** * Project Quality Plan (PQP) * **Inspection \& Test Plans (ITP)** * Method Statements * **Material Inspection Requests (MIR)** * Work Inspection Requests (WIR) * **NCR / CAR management** * Root Cause Analysis and Corrective Actions * **Quality audits** * Material and laboratory testing * **Construction drawings and specifications** * Quality documentation and handover dossiers * **MS Office and QA/QC documentation systems** * Knowledge of QCS and relevant international standards Key Competencies * **Strong attention to detail** * Problem\-solving and analytical skills * **Excellent communication and coordination** * Ability to work effectively with consultants, clients, contractors, and subcontractors * **Strong documentation and reporting skills** * Ability to work under project deadlines * **Good knowledge of construction processes** * Strong understanding of quality requirements and inspection procedures * **Good English communication skills** **Preferred Qatar Experience** Candidates with experience on Ashghal/PWA, QatarEnergy, major infrastructure, commercial, residential, highrise, or fit\-out projects will be preferred depending on the project requirements. Current QatarEnergy senior QA/QC positions also emphasize ISO 9001 auditing, QMS implementation, international codes, inspection, material certification, and project lifecycle experience.
