Summary: This role involves assisting in basic food preparation, maintaining kitchen hygiene, and supporting senior chefs in a hotel or branded unit. Highlights: 1. Support senior chefs and manage stock levels with a 'can do' attitude **Your day to day** * Assist in basic food preparation such as chopping, cutting, and cooking under supervision * Prepare simple dishes, sandwiches, salads, and beverages for cafeteria service * Ensure food is prepared and presented according to hotel standards * Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and cafeteria area * Follow food safety and hygiene standards (HACCP guidelines) * Assist in receiving, storing, and labeling food supplies * Monitor stock levels and inform supervisors of shortages * Support senior chefs during busy service periods * Ensure proper use and care of kitchen equipment Dispose of waste properly and keep workstations clean **What we need from you****PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS** **Education*** Diploma or relevant qualification in Hospitality **Experience*** At least 1 years previous experience in a hotel or branded units * Knowledge of volume production and ability to maintain the highest quality standards. **Technical*** Ability to follow standards recipes and convert quantities mathematically * Ability to taste all foods to assure correct preparation * Knowledge of stock control, rotas and budgetary controls * **Personal Attributes*** ‘Can do’ attitude and a high level of energy * Professionally groomed * Able to manage task simultaneously; and priorities * Flexible and aware of the pressure points within the kitchen environment and adapt to each situation with maturity and calmness. * Hands\-on attitude, leads by example * Always goes the extra mile to ensure colleagues satisfaction.
