Troubleshoot basic electrical faults and coordinate major repairs **Job Description – Diesel Generator (DG) Operator** **Location:** Qatar **Department:** Facility Management (FM) **Reports To:** Facility Engineer / Electrical Supervisor **Experience Required:** Minimum **3 years GCC Facility Management experience** in Diesel Generator Operations and Electrical Maintenance. **Job Purpose** To operate, monitor, inspect, and maintain diesel generators and associated electrical systems to ensure uninterrupted power supply across client facilities. The role also supports preventive and corrective maintenance activities for electrical systems in accordance with FM best practices. **Key Responsibilities** * Operate, monitor, and maintain diesel generators (DG sets), AMF/ATS panels, and associated electrical equipment. * Perform daily inspections, operational checks, and routine preventive maintenance of DG systems. * Monitor fuel levels, coolant, lubricating oil, battery condition, and other operational parameters. * Conduct regular test runs and load testing of generators as per maintenance schedules. * Respond promptly to power failures and emergency breakdowns. * Record generator operating hours, fuel consumption, alarms, and maintenance activities. * Troubleshoot basic electrical faults and coordinate with the maintenance team for major repairs. * Assist in maintenance of LV panels, UPS systems, batteries, lighting, and power distribution systems. * Ensure compliance with safety procedures, LOTO requirements, and permit\-to\-work systems. * Maintain housekeeping of generator rooms and electrical plant areas. * Support emergency response during power outages and critical equipment failures. * Report abnormal conditions and maintenance requirements to the Facility Engineer. **Experience \& Qualification** * **Minimum 3 years of Facility Management experience in the GCC**, preferably in Qatar. * Hands\-on experience in operating and maintaining DG sets up to 1500KVA. * Experience with AMF/ATS panels, LV electrical systems, UPS, and power distribution. * Experience working in commercial buildings, banks, hospitals, or high\-rise facilities is preferred. * ITI in Electrical Engineering / Electrical Trade or equivalent. **Technical Skills** * Good understanding of diesel generator operation and maintenance. * Knowledge of electrical troubleshooting and preventive maintenance. * Ability to read electrical single\-line diagrams (SLD) and control schematics. * Familiarity with FM preventive maintenance procedures and work order systems. * Basic knowledge of electrical safety standards and emergency response procedures. * Familiarity with CAFM WO systems. **Behavioral Competencies** * Strong troubleshooting and problem\-solving skills. * Ability to work under pressure during emergencies. * Good communication and reporting skills. * Team player with a proactive attitude. * Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and on\-call duties.
