Work independently following work instructions and procedures Electrical Technician **Location:** Ras Laffan, Qatar Job Summary We are seeking a skilled **Electrical Technician** to join our maintenance team supporting Oil \& Gas operations in Ras Laffan, Qatar. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing preventive, corrective, and breakdown maintenance on a wide range of electrical equipment while ensuring compliance with QatarEnergy safety standards and Permit to Work (PTW) procedures. Key Responsibilities * Perform fault diagnosis, installation, preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, breakdown repairs, and overhaul of electrical equipment. * Carry out planned maintenance and corrective maintenance on emergency generators, 415V and 3\.3kV switchgears, motor control centers (MCC), and motor starters. * Inspect, maintain, and troubleshoot transformers, explosion\-proof (Ex) motors, protective relays, UPS systems, battery chargers, rectifiers, batteries, and motor\-operated valves (MOVs). * Maintain electrical heaters, electrical heat tracing systems, portable electrical equipment, and associated electrical installations. * Perform maintenance on Electric Overhead Travelling (EOT) cranes and related electrical systems. * Troubleshoot electrical faults and restore equipment to normal operating condition with minimal downtime. * Complete maintenance activities independently while following work instructions and maintenance procedures. * Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with QatarEnergy Permit to Work (PTW) requirements and HSE regulations. * Maintain accurate maintenance records and report equipment defects or abnormalities to the supervisor. Qualifications * Secondary School Certificate or equivalent with an Electrical Trade Certificate. * Minimum of **5 to 7 years of maintenance experience** in the Oil \& Gas, Refinery, or Petrochemical industry. * Strong troubleshooting and maintenance experience with: * Emergency generators * 3\.3kV switchgears * Motor Control Centers (MCC) * Explosion\-proof (Ex) motors * Protective relays * Transformers * Portable electrical equipment * Motor\-operated valves (MOVs) * Electrical heaters * Electrical heat tracing systems * UPS systems * Battery chargers and rectifiers * Computer literate. * Good command of written and spoken English. * Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. * Strong knowledge of industrial electrical safety standards and maintenance practices. * Must be able to qualify for QatarEnergy Electrical Permit to Work (EPTW) requirements.
